Cbz40 Post Game Thread | Dallas Cowboys 24 New York Jets 27 | FINAL

Maybe If we run the ball instead of getting cute the Witten plays dosent matter. You have to come out of that drive with at least 3, but of course our choking QB gives it all away, points, and momentum.

I've been saying this for the last four or five years now ...

Penalties (Number-Yards) 7 - 40
Third Down Efficiency 4/12 = 33%
Passing Plays 66/92 = 72% (BTW ... remember we were winning until the 4Q)
Rushing Plays 26/92 = 28% (BTW ... remember we were winning until the 4Q)

typical Romo. Yes, he's a very good quarterback. But when the going gets tough his nuts shrink. He's good enough to be a winning qb, but just won't be championship caliber. For evidence check critical fumble when 3 points ices the game, and throwing duck at Revis on what Garrett just said was "Tony was confused by the coverage."

Cromartie was covering Dez initially...

It's probably just and I know people will give me crap for saying this but...

Come on Jason Witten... on that 64yd reception by Witten, frankly it looks like he lets Leonard ride him out of bounds. I mean he's Jason Witten! He's BIG Jason Witten. He's physically bigger than Leonard. WHy doesn't he just muscle his way into the endzone there? 3 yards man...push push push, fight for that TD. Maybe he was gassed, I dunno, but I think Witten could have fought for the TD there...that killer instinct wasn't there on that play.

If its Dez, he's fighting for the TD. if its Austin hes likely fighting for the TD. Heck, I think even Bennett and Phillips fight for it there...

I just hope that he gets the chance again and next time he muscles his way into the endzone

We needed to pound the run 3 times and kick a field goal if we don't get in. Game over. Thanks JG, that's called putting your team in position to fail. JG is smarter then this yet he keeps doing this on the 1 yard line. I hoped he has learned his final lesson after totally embarrasing the team and himself with what followed... a complete meltdown.

Not really. Still close to 10 minutes left. We gave up two TD's in under 3 min each. Get the ball in the end zone.

So, if they run the ball three times, and don't get it, that's okay? No, we're crying that Garrett isn't creative enough, or that we shouldn't count on a young OL against one of the best run D's in the league. Play calls are good when they work, and bad when they don't. We had a drive later, where we had two plays to get two yards, ran both times, and didn't get it.

Hell yes it's okay.

When you are in the last 8 minutes of a football game and have the chance to take a guaranteed 2 score lead, of course it okay.

Nevermind the fact that Dallas pounded the ball in on the previous goal line trip.

Was Felix even touched on that play because I didn't think he was?

And the funnier thing is, when the game was basically 0-0 after the Jets had tied it up, Garrett went straight runs.

The guy gets flustered. If he was a poker player, he'd play very well until the final table and then someone would bluff once and win a hand. The following hand Garrett would go all in on a the worst possible hand and be out of the tournament.

He gets rattled and literally lays down.

Really surprised Witten did not even make an attempt to run over him or even side step him. Witten took the score for granted and it backfired.

We never ran effectively up the middle. That defense is hard to run against and throw against. #1 or #2 in almost every category.

Righto. Instead, we run 3 plays in a row at midfield, but at the 1 Yd. line, we pass, or Romo fumbles. Better to have run 3 times at the 1 Yd. line, and then a FG. Of course, that means that we might have won the game.

Run the ball at the goal line. Make the Jets prove that they can stop it Throwing away a game that should have been won:mad:

I doubt the winning team's ratios were any better, maybe worse...they seemed to be passing on every down.

That's what teams do when the defense won't let them run.

There is 15 more games folks, you have to be encouraged by what we saw vs a great D.

When you are up 7 in the 4th quarter and it is second and goal from the 2 yd line, run the freakin ball. If you do not make it then kick the fg. I am sick of Garrett always wanting to throw the ball that close.

You're assuming the result would have been better. Maybe we score. Maybe we still fumble. Maybe the FG gets blocked and run back. The only reason you're upset with the play calling is because it didn't work. Since when do you automatically run the ball when it's on the 1 yard line? Worked really well for the Saints, didn't it?

Do you?

I mean, really do you?

I saw the same team I watched last year.

Play exceptionally well for a good portion of the game and then just puke the game away.

the fumbling on the goal line ratio also hurts - especially when a chip shot wins.

Put on your thinking cap. Of course it's OK--3 runs and maybe 7, or three runs and a FG, and we would have won or tied, instead of losing--get it ?

Yep. Play well enough to give themselves a chance to win, but then bad enough to lose.

I don't get into morale victories. I figured our offense would do damage against their defense.
