We almost lost to Carolina and Kansas City. "Tough" is a relative term at this point.

I'm not expecting us to go 4-2 (or better). But that 6-game stretch leading up to December is NOT a tough schedule, as you stated.

To me, this is a 7-9 win team, which puts us pretty close to on the same side in the big picture I presume. I'm merely disagreeing with your assessment of the remaining pre-December chunk of our schedule.

We almost beat the undefeated Denver and NYG, this game was closer than it should've been but atleast we have a standout receiver in Austin and hopefully he gets the ball more often now.

At the time of the NYG game I thought the same thing. Several weeks later I now realize the Giants just played pretty poorly that night. Denver is one of the worst 4-0 teams I've ever seen.

And there are plenty of #2 and #3 receivers that would light up Kansas City. Their defense is terrible, and outside of Austin and Choice we didnt look very good on that side of the ball.

Yeah, I'm not counting on Austin being used a lot more in the future. He should be but I'm not counting on it.

The Atlanta game will be key to the rest of the season.

Well, as we go into the bye week all I can muster is an uneasy feeling of relief. Turnovers and penalty after penalty really take a lot of the air out of Austin's (and Romo's) great performance. Our team continues to look sloppy and undisciplined week after week. I'm happy for the win.....and fearful for the future.

I've been quiet about Wade Phillips but for whatever reason the team does not seem to be able to improve from week to week. The mistakes really limit our ability to be consistent. Whether it it his fault or not, he doesn't look like the head coach this team needs. So on a week that we get a win, I think Wade needs to go.

Not with Jason Garrett as your Offensive Coordinator.

After recognizing that Tashard Choice had the hot hand, he still kept trotting Marion Barber out on the field.

Jason Garrett has absolutely no clue when it comes to understanding talent integration into an Offense.

But hey, he was the main guy claiming Brad Johnson would be a great backup.

Atlanta and Philly are really good teams. Green Bay is average but winning in Lambeau is never easy. We are Washington's superbowl and they always get up fr us.

The schedule isnt as easy as it may look. To have ANY chance of making the playoffs we'll need to go 5-1 or better heading into December, and I just don't see it.

Very well put except maybe that last sentence. I just don't see how you can get ride of Wade after a win (as much as I would probably cheer it were it to happen.)

My son had hockey this am so I had to PVR the game and I just finished it. I was pretty choked when the D choked it away at the end but Austin is my new hero.

We had to win the game. I don't care how crappy the Chiefs are, the team gutted out a win which is all that matters. We were punched in the mouth a number of times but still came out with a win.

Romo played well and I don't blame him for the fumble in the second quarter.

Austin was an animal today. 250 yards and two TDs, should have had three or four.

They sucked it all up and won.

Good on them.

I don't think Atlanta and Philly are really good teams. They're good certainly; I don't know about 'really good'.

Going 4-2 would take some good play on our part, which would help going into that final stretch. But since we don't appear to be a team capable of good play for an entire game, let alone 6, I don't see it happening.

My guess at this stage: 9-7, tops.

Going 4-2 would leave us at 7-4 and probably needing to win 4 of our last 5 to make the postseason (I tink it will take 11 wins this year, especially considering we are playing 3 fellow NFC contenders in the final 5 games).

Austin get's most yards in Cowboys History and the OT game winner...

Awesome.

Jerruh gets a real coach they will not beat good teams. Too many illegal formations, offsides, dropped passes, dumb penalties at bad times etc..... Dallas should have lost this game and would have if KC had a couple of lineman that new how to block on field goal attempts. A replacement for Flozell, Garrett, Phillips needs to be found yesterday.

As unimpressive as this win was, I'll take it. Anything going into the win column is good for me.

I agree on your point that the rest of the season is going to get tougher. there are no more easy games. This was our "gimmie" game and we almost gave it away. Every opponent from now on needs to be taken seriously, even the Raiders. Just because other teams blow them away does not mean we can just show up and the league will award us with the win.

Studs:

Austin
Choice
Ratliff
Ware
Brooking

Duds:
flozell
the entire d at the end of the game.

The real coach before Wade Cupcake couldnt help these dumb players.

When your DL goes offsides 4 times on a drive....its all on the players....when the FG kicker fails to turn the laces....its on the players....when OL fail to know the snap count....its on the players.

If the Players minimized their mistakes today.....executed better....beat their man.......this game would of not been close.

Players have to be accountable....I didnt think the team was unprepared...I thought the gameplan was solid....what was missing was players failing to make plays....failing to execute basic football plays....

JMHO

10-6 almost always gets you in, regardless of division. If we were to go 7-4, we'd likely have wins against some of our division opponents.

Again -- I don't think this team is going to go 7-4, although I'm not ruling it out.

I'm looking at the Atlanta game as the big tell. If they win that, I think they've got a legitimate shot at making the playoffs. If they lose, I'm giving up. I'll still watch but I would pretty much rule out making the playoffs.

I've never bought into this theory. At least half of these players weren't with BP. Your theory totally discounts the notion that coaches make a difference simply because we've done stupid things under two consecutive coaches.

Big time players make big time players... Austin is one of those young and hungry players that always want to get better, I LOVE IT!!!!!! Feed him the ball pleaaaaaase!
