Your proving the exact opposite of your point.
Because we kept handing them the ball back, because of our pathetic pass attack. Garrett abandoned the run in the second quarter, if not end of first, meaning the TOP had no relevance to us abandoning the run.
We were constantly forced into 3rd and long situations, because Garrett doesn't know how to manage a game and play for yardage.
Now tell me, what did Miles Austin do today....
He abandoned the run? Dude I'm going to own that argument so hold on for the ride.
We'll ignore the first drive since we drove the ball well, Romo missed Austin on a throw, and then we missed a FG. We ran/passed well that drive.
On our 2nd drive we ran the ball first for 5, then passed it for 13. Then
we ran two consecutive running plays for minimal yardage and faced a 3rd and 9 where we almost had to pass. 3rd down incomplete, punt.
Next drive. Felix for 2, then sacked, creating 3rd and 19. You have to pass, and we did and came up short. Punt. In all essence we were a 1/1 ratio there considering our situation.
Next drive. Pass to Bennett for 6 yards.
Then two consecutive runs, including a 3rd and 4 draw to Choice that came up short. Punt.
Next drive. 1st down big play to Roy, he fumbles and turns the ball over.
Next drive we get the ball with under 2 minutes in the half down 3. If you want to get picky for not running here, fine. We usually have one of the best 2-minute offenses at the end of the half, so I'd hope we're looking to be aggressive.
Next drive is the start of the 3rd. Felix runs for 25. Then Barber is stopped for a loss of one, and Romo is sacked on 2nd down to create 3rd and long. Obvious passing situation.
Next drive. We run Choice in the Razorback and he picks up nice yardage. Then we try another run and Choice fumbles the handoff if I remember right, then Roy drops a perfect pass, then Witten sets a pick and negates a 3rd and long first down. Punt. The rest of the game is irrelevant as far as run/pass ratio considering the time left and the score.
Point is, we tried to run the ball, but due to playing poorly and getting owned on the TOP we were not in situations to run.
Blaming anyone but the players for this loss is just ignorant.
...and I'm not trying to defend Miles Austin, that wasnt my point at all. It had to do with you blaming Garrett for not running the ball when that clearly should not be an issue.
