Don't count on that. The sunshine crew will be out in full force claiming "all is well" and the ever effective "go root for another team".

The season isn't over by any stretch but to claim that this team is "over the hump" (the rally cry of the sunshine crew all season) just blew up. Yes, the team is allowed to have a bad game. They had one against KC and still managed to win the game. This wasn't a bad game. this was an atrocious game. Absolutely atrocious. I'm sure they'll all hang their hats on the garbage TD and claim that we only lost by 10.

They have been doing tons of chest thumping as if Dallas had accomplished something. We have seen this before...they showed some of the issues we saw earlier in the season. The Garrett Myth thread looks like a bad joke after this loss.

The offensive line played poorly today. But it was as much the Packers playing a game they had to win and having a terrific defensive game plan.

Perhaps it would be interesting after a tough loss to just congratulate the other team and not blame our guys.

I kinda agree with you. I mean we cannot catch all of the breaks (Roy Williams), all of the big injuries, and bad rule that led to no replay on that fumble, but GB played really tough and played hard to not lose and they didn't tonight.

Their defense was spot on. gotta give them their credit when it is due. That is why the games are played every sunday.

Dungy - Romo has to see someone is coming from his blindside.

No Flo has to not double team Kosier's guy while a blitzer runs through to his left.

Rogers got blindsided earlier in the game by Scandrick, why aren't there commentators all over TV pointing out how he has to see that?

It just wasn't meant to be today. I still believe we are a good team.
That's my take too. I'm surprised that I'm not more upset over this one. It just didn't feel right from the start. Just one of those games.

I believe the Packers have the largest DL (by average weight) of any team in the NFL. The good news is the Cowboys won't face porkers like that again. I agree it negated the Boys OL.

GB has a big DL....I think that cancelled out our OL size advantage.

Our RBs were only decent in pass blocking today.

We didnt try to establish the run today and that hurt us. our OL never had the opportunity to even get in the groove of run blocking. we had too many 3 and outs.

I guarantee you he will be. In the past 6 years he has been to the pro-bowl 5 times, including the last three years.

And he didn't deserve to make any of them. He made the pro bowl last year despite ranking bottom third in every meaningful stat for his position, and is a penalty machine.

man I dunno it's hard to defend Roy Williams on that fumble.

It's like the guy can't have one week, just one week where all he does is show up, catch the ball and head into next week.

That fumble was just another highlight on the long list of Roy Williams resume as a Cowboy.

I thought it was a good play by Woodson (or whoever it was). Not excusing Roy, but the defender knocked the ball out. It happens. I only fault Roy for that HORRIBLE drop that changed the game's momentum. Other than that, he did more than anybody else of offense.

God, we needed 9-2 because of the tough schedule. We're doomed, ya'll. Don't be surprised if we drop the game next week against the 'Skins. Cowboys aren't that good.

Your proving the exact opposite of your point.

Because we kept handing them the ball back, because of our pathetic pass attack. Garrett abandoned the run in the second quarter, if not end of first, meaning the TOP had no relevance to us abandoning the run.

We were constantly forced into 3rd and long situations, because Garrett doesn't know how to manage a game and play for yardage.

Now tell me, what did Miles Austin do today....

He abandoned the run? Dude I'm going to own that argument so hold on for the ride.

We'll ignore the first drive since we drove the ball well, Romo missed Austin on a throw, and then we missed a FG. We ran/passed well that drive.

On our 2nd drive we ran the ball first for 5, then passed it for 13. Then we ran two consecutive running plays for minimal yardage and faced a 3rd and 9 where we almost had to pass. 3rd down incomplete, punt.

Next drive. Felix for 2, then sacked, creating 3rd and 19. You have to pass, and we did and came up short. Punt. In all essence we were a 1/1 ratio there considering our situation.

Next drive. Pass to Bennett for 6 yards. Then two consecutive runs, including a 3rd and 4 draw to Choice that came up short. Punt.

Next drive. 1st down big play to Roy, he fumbles and turns the ball over.

Next drive we get the ball with under 2 minutes in the half down 3. If you want to get picky for not running here, fine. We usually have one of the best 2-minute offenses at the end of the half, so I'd hope we're looking to be aggressive.

Next drive is the start of the 3rd. Felix runs for 25. Then Barber is stopped for a loss of one, and Romo is sacked on 2nd down to create 3rd and long. Obvious passing situation.

Next drive. We run Choice in the Razorback and he picks up nice yardage. Then we try another run and Choice fumbles the handoff if I remember right, then Roy drops a perfect pass, then Witten sets a pick and negates a 3rd and long first down. Punt. The rest of the game is irrelevant as far as run/pass ratio considering the time left and the score.

Point is, we tried to run the ball, but due to playing poorly and getting owned on the TOP we were not in situations to run.

Blaming anyone but the players for this loss is just ignorant.

...and I'm not trying to defend Miles Austin, that wasnt my point at all. It had to do with you blaming Garrett for not running the ball when that clearly should not be an issue.

Yeah, that's about how I feel. The Cowboys just weren't sharp today. It started with the Folk miss. I think it also has a lot to do with:
  • The 4-game winning streak
  • It was on a road against a decent team
  • My working assumption is that this team's got 10 or 11 wins in it.

What part of 2nd quarter, onwards do you not understand. We were down 3-0 going into the half. How can anybody claim we were not in a situation to run because of TOP, when we were only down by 3 and had a little over 30 minutes of football to play?

How much did we run the ball in the second-half?

You do realize a running game keeps the defense off balance don't you?
