Cedrick Wilson anybody

We are talking about a 6th rounder that never played a snap in the NFL. Right? Only in Dallas can we find excitement with these types. I understand the guy looked good in camp, last year. I do hope we can tone down the enthusiasm until he shows up in the regular season.

I don't have the disdain most on here have for T Will. For one, he's from Dallas and went to high school here and was a Cowboys fan. I always have a soft spot for those guys.

I think the issue with T Will has been expectations. He's simply never been a #1, but has been a contributor (we don't beat Houston in 2014 without him). I don't see him necessarily as a veteran presence though. He always seemed to me to be Pancho to Dez's Cisco Kid and not near what he ever was with Dez gone. However, I wouldn't jettison him at this point - let him come to camp and compete.

Regarding the subject of this thread, Cedric Wilson has some promise, but let's not get carried away until we see a 2nd full preseason at least. The landscape here has been littered with 1-year preseason wonders. I will say, though, that I like him better than that numb-nuts Lenoir. I would've cut Lenoir after his hit 2 yards out of bounds on a punt return (don't remember the game). That just tells me there's a dearth of smarts going on. I can live with a 1/2 yard, even maybe a yard, but 2 yards is just plain stupid.

I'm not against T-Wil coming back. Or Irving. But when their seasons end like it did.....I just sort of assume the team has moved on from them but if they haven't? I'm not against bringing them back. T-Will seems like the perfect guy for Dak.

I get the hate of T-Will. He's a chest catcher. He disappears. But as a 3rd or 4th receiver? He's a asset if he can get on the field.

But I say that to also say he's not irreplaceable. I'd prefer to use my resources on positions more extreme then the 4th receiver on the team though.

Liked Cedrick Wilson, Jr. a lot at Boise State, and was happy we got him in the 6th round. I wouldn't count on him being a sure thing but I'm excited that he'll be in the mix.

As far as Terrance Williams, it's a few things on why he should be gone. People complain about Dez not improving as a route runner but seem willing to let Terrance off the hook for failing to improve getting his hands up and constantly allowing balls inside (aka "body catches"). I don't know a single wide receiver coach who would be content with his continued lack of getting his hands up and attacking the ball. Two, the off-field stuff. Three, and the reason he is most likely gone, they can save $2.25M in cap room if they cut him, $3.5M if designate a June 1st cut, and $3.5M in actual cash paid out next season. At best, he will be the third guy behind Cooper and Gallup. They can use that money elsewhere, on let's say a Safety or Defensive Tackle, and let guys like Noah Brown ($663k cap hit in 2019) and Cedrick Wilson ($525k) compete for what is more likely the 4th WR reps, behind Cooper, Gallup, and whatever slot WR we keep (Beasley or Austin) or draft.

Why stop there? Why not give TWill another 6 years here, because he may eventually show something. Lol

Lack of speed makes the deep threat seem iffy, particularly with Dak's lack of touch and accuracy on deep balls.

Supposed to be a good route runner. Hard worker. Former highschool QB. Needs weight. Only 9 bench reps at combine.

Very complimentary review at BTB. College highlite reel at the end. Some nice catches, and in traffic.

Lacking speed, I'd like to see alot more weight on him to add more as a blocker to the run game. Had a number of passes in his highlite reel. He should keep it up. Could be fun.

I think the combination of Sanjay Lal's coaching, and watching how a pro like Amari Cooper goes about his business, will do wonders for Gallop, Brown, Wilson, and these other young receivers. And it would be a nice bonus if the Devin Smith reclamation project pays off in some way as well. In terms of outside receivers, I think we're in good shape, and we don;t need the disappointment of Terrance Williams any longer. But there are question marks in the slot, especially is Beasley goes as I expect.

He is actually right, "only in Dallas" do they get excited about 6th round rookie WRs who missed their rookie year.

That's because Dallas drafted Dwayne Harris in the 6th, saw him spend a year on the practice squad, then go onto a good career that included a Pro Bowl.

Totally agree, both Cooper and Gallup will be better next year with an offseason to get their timing down with Dak.

Noah Brown and Wilson (assuming he makes the team) should be better with the normal improvement you see from young players. Brown is still a year and a half younger than Calvin Ridley and Wilson is the same age.

Replacing Beasley is a wildcard but I think we bring Tavon Austin back and draft a WR in the 3rd or 4th round. That gives you six guys with youth (except Austin) and talent.
