CeeDee is trying a new method to eliminate drops

I saw a short on this last night. The narrator presented it as Lamb was doing this to replicate having the sun in his eyes and was sending a message to Jerry.

He also included a still shot of Witten doing the same thing years ago.

Great players make those 1-2 crucial catches instead of dropping them.

No one cares if Jackie Smith was a good player overall, they remember his choke job in the super bowl.
That's because we have hindsight. If we win a game where he drops one, its forgotten. It only becomes a crucial catch after the fact and in context of a game after the fact. Every WR has an occasional drop, so I disagree with the spotlight that been put on it.

Agreed. It's one of those untrue memes that get spread because of one or two memorable drops.
Some drops are bigger than others.

Lamb's drops in Week 1 pretty much cost us the game at Philly.

He's one of our best players - he can't be the reason we lose games moving forward.

Kudos to him for the unorthodox approach to trying to get better, even though he probably knew it would get attention and likely go viral.

I really only recall Lamb having drop issues in the opener at Philly and I think in the home rematch that Dallas won.

Given the volume of targets he gets the drop issues are probably overblown. Not saying they aren't there, just saying it's not as huge an issue as some make it out to be.

Inthink it was how it came. He had like 4 drops week 1? Makes it seem worse than what it was. The Philly game was incredible they were dominating that group and just dropped.

This is correct. It's exaggerated because of how visible the drops were.

I think CD is a little bit more prone to bad games than other top WRs, but the drop thing is blown out of proportion.

Appreciate his effort to approve, but it's more of a mental issue with him. My $34M WR needs to figure it out.....fast

This is Pickens trying it ..........LOL

That's what I saw. Most of the time he was trying to make a play with the ball before he had secured the catch. That can be a problem with receivers who have a great RAC.

You are probably right, but the fact that we are talking about it..........the question is how did we get here. He's an elite top WR.........I could be wrong, but I have not read/heard much about other drop issues. Yes, I know they all will drop a pass or two, but it appears he has some during critical/cluch moments.

That's just it........as Mike Tomlin once said, guys should make routine plays, routinely.

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin famously stated, "I expect guys to make routine plays routinely" while expressing zero patience for dropped passes. [1, 2]
