CeeDee or Bust: Cowboys WR situation not likely to improve

Our WR situation is pretty much a one-trick pony with having only Cee Dee as a legit receiver.
Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be many legitimate options to help alleviate that situation.
We have no WR's on the Roster at the 1b or 2 level. We only have level 3 & 4 currently on the roster.
Should Lamb be unavailable, we have a below avg offense at that point.
There doesn't seem to be many options in FA this year to find a compliment to Cee Dee.
So, expect more of the same this year and pray Cee Dee stays healthy.
They will draft a true #2 in the first round or second. When you sign a guy like Lamb to a contract like he signed, you draft another top WR to pair with him on a rookie contract. Four years from now, you let Lamb walk, and draft another top receiver.

Good strategy.

IMO, they should go get the #2 right now in FA on 1-2 year deals. Draft the next #1 Wr when CD has 2-3 years left on his contract. See if your #1 WR pick is really a #1 and then cut bait after second contract.
This is what they should be doing at RB as well. Maybe a second contract, but not necessarily, just good drafting strategy.

Build through the draft, but enhance and maintain through FA. Afterall, you can't get them all right.

I think they draft someone .......... Jerry loves flash positions
See the WR position is always slow to catch on in NFL , then you have the Tolbert like who never translate to WR1/ 2.

Even Chase who immediately flourished is because Burrow and he had chemistry from pre- NFL,

I think Cooper Kupp if healthy will be a better option but he will demand good money ( may be not Stephen’s bargain bin ) Tee higgins is another one .

Of course in your doomsday scenario, it's conviently left out a pretty big annual event in April.

Debo Samuel is supposedly available for trade (he's asked for a trade) and could also help with the RB position. He may be out of the price range though.

So many people are relying on a 2nd or 3rd Round WR to come in and be the Robin to Batman (Cee Dee)?
Good luck with that.
Also, look at the 2025 WR Free Agent Market. There aren't many/any that would instill confidence to be our 1b/2.
T Higgins is the Top FA and there is no way we sign him.
Godwin from TB is intriguing but he is coming off a major ankle injury.
Amari Cooper will be available but we know that ain't happening given the bad blood between him and Jerry.
Devonte Adams would be interesting if NY want's to move him.
Tell me who you think a good/legitimate FA prospect is....

So a WR in round 1 or 2. Many also think they will draft a RB in rd 1 or 2.

If so, then we arent addressing the DL, OL, LB, or S until at least the 3rd and then day 3.

With Jerry and Stephen our needs list keeps growing every year. Such an incompetent FO.

The team will absolutely sign or draft more WR talent. We aren't looking for a "complimentary" wr. We need someone like Tee Higgins who would be a #1 on most any other team

i'm sure the draft will change the room.
i like tolbert and brooks.
the wr group is not that bad.
very young group.

Yup. Look for us to start trading 1st round picks for WRs. That's been Jerry's MO.

its not just the WR group that's not going to improve. its the whole team.
Parsons will be resigned and all this other stuff is jerry just manipulating media for attention. parsons was top 5 in Jersey sales, so no way jerry lets him go.
Osa will walk, because washington will outbid us and Stephen will say, well parsons contract!!!!
we will sign bottom of the barrell DTs or just promote UDFAs from PS to the team.
Draft will be ho hum. Jerry will take Jeanty if he is there, because he can just imagine how many Jeanty Jerseys he can sell.
Draft will be another disaster waiting to happen.
2025 will be at best, at best, at best another 7-10 season. and jerry excuses continue. Because Smith is coming up from a redo.
Agree, except on the at best. Our at best would be 1-16 w/ the top pick in the draft!!!!

Of course, Jerry will trade it for a WR after we start 3-6!!!!!!

You guys beware of the positivity police here.
They are the bouncers at the door to this club.
If you don't believe in the current stable of the 2 Jalens, Flournoy and Mingo flourishing in a Dak led offense as WR2 and WR3 then that's entirely on you!

Geez,
Now stand by for Dak to tell us when he's in the best shape of his life and then dare to doubt him!!
I double dog dare ya.

Such Debbie Downers I swear...
Can we please try and discuss the positive aspects here to Cowboy team building.
Like General Managing, Head Coaching, Quarterbacking, Free Agency, Cap/contract issues, draft/defensive player acquisition.
Pick a topic and keep it sunny because there's lots to be optimistic about.

Cowboys!

They will pencil in Mingo currently. They want to justify that pick folks

Need to draft the best availiable receiver with pick 1 and than draft Omarion Hampton with 44 he going to be a better back than Jeanty .
