CeeDee or Bust: Cowboys WR situation not likely to improve

Our WR situation is pretty much a one-trick pony with having only Cee Dee as a legit receiver.
Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be many legitimate options to help alleviate that situation.
We have no WR's on the Roster at the 1b or 2 level. We only have level 3 & 4 currently on the roster.
Should Lamb be unavailable, we have a below avg offense at that point.
There doesn't seem to be many options in FA this year to find a compliment to Cee Dee.
So, expect more of the same this year and pray Cee Dee stays healthy.
Ceedee is better than most teams number 1s and is one of the best receivers in the NFL so I wouldn't say the WR spot is dire. However, we can use a #2. Tolbert made a jump last year and showed he's capable of being that #3 guy, perhaps he can take another step forward this year?

For the rest of the team Turpin could play a bigger role and think he just needs more opportunities because he's made good things happen when targeted. Mingo was an odd addition but showed flashes his rookie year and with a full offseason maybe he can atleast be viable depth. No question the Cowboys should add more at WR to the mix in the draft and potentially free agency. There are actually some interesting options out there in free agency.

I would bet the farm Jerry drafts a WR in the first or second round. Or, he will sign an aging vet WR to play opposite CeeDee. Or, he will bet on Mingo since he used a 4th round pick on him.

IMO, the Cowboys not very good at developing players. Guys like Tolbert, Flournoy, Brooks, Schoonmaker, and even Luepke are kept on a short lease for too long. All these guys should have been given bigger roles in the game plans last year when it was clear the Cowboys weren't going anywhere.
Actually, that may be true, but that's not the problem. Here's the problem: Jalen Tolbert: "Single speed runner w/ no explosive element.......doesn't show much snap to his breaks." How do we not know this? The scouts do.

There is no developing a player who lacks the physical skills.

I'd be interested in seeing what his numbers were like after he came back from injury. Seemed like a different player. I know he's on his way out before long either way but I still feel like they should keep him around until there's a better option. I do have high hopes for Flournoy and another draft pick.

Coming back from injury he posted 17 catches for 168 yards over 6 games. He averaged 42 snaps per game during that 6 game stretch as well so he had starter level snaps. He did flash a few times in the final weeks against Tampa and Philly so I get what you're saying, but I struggle to put much faith in two games of solid play vs multiple years of bad results. I wouldnt go into 2025 counting on Cooks to give you #2 production.

its not just the WR group that's not going to improve. its the whole team.
Parsons will be resigned and all this other stuff is jerry just manipulating media for attention. parsons was top 5 in Jersey sales, so no way jerry lets him go.
Osa will walk, because washington will outbid us and Stephen will say, well parsons contract!!!!
we will sign bottom of the barrell DTs or just promote UDFAs from PS to the team.
Draft will be ho hum. Jerry will take Jeanty if he is there, because he can just imagine how many Jeanty Jerseys he can sell.
Draft will be another disaster waiting to happen.
2025 will be at best, at best, at best another 7-10 season. and jerry excuses continue. Because Smith is coming up from a redo.
I was listening to Jeff Saturday who is one of the few I will listen to on espn. He believes Dallas should try to bring in Cooper Kupp. Doesn't sound like a bad idea to me.

not a bad idea. a two year deal. he won't be the prime dog and can be a great role for him as he gets older.

I think Tolbert takes yet another step next year. Guy had a quietly productive year this year. He's getting better. Was never the smartest player, but he is catching onto the NFL.

Somebody who can beat press man against CB2s is definitely needed.

Cuz when all the opposing DCs load the box/stack the LOS against the new run game, they will be daring Sleep Number to beat them.

And we've all seen that movie before.
He can't do it.

Wish he'd catch on to some burst.

Based on what facts?
