CFP thread

Also, those same people will be happy with 4 aq's (regardless of rank) from SEC and B1G league in a new format.

There will be MORE AQs in the future, not less.

There is a shot that all four P4s get 4 AQs, but then the format would be 24 teams.
I side with the SEC on well nothing; but the 5+11 Sankey proposed is the proper solution.

We do not need 24 teams when there are about 5-6 teams that could realistically win the thing.
Currently the two all-powerful SEC teams that won in round 1 are a TD or more underdog in round 2.

16 is perfect. 8 home games, no byes.

Keep 11 based on CFP rank.
You get a certain top 10 plus nod to the 5 conf champs.
And you can crown a champ Jan 1 before the portal opens and 2nd semester starts.

It makes a painful amount of sense.

Yeah, that's my preference too.

None of this true and it is clear you did not watch the friggin game but are blabbering anyway.

JMU had DOUBLE the time of possession in the 1st half while getting crushed on the scoreboard.
The offense moved the ball extremely well, but the special teams and defense were woefully overmatched and Oregon D was good in the red zone in the 1st half.

The tired Duck defense broke in the 2nd half and gave up a ton of points.
The entire 1st team D was playing when JMU scored on a 99-yard drive.

The was the most yards and points Oregon gave up at home this entire season.

The Oregon DC is leaving and that defense was pretty clearly an issue.
Oh I'm imagining the 34-3 score? lol

Of course JMU had the ball more. They are good at racking up 10 yards at a time and couldn't stop Oregons first team offense. If you want to be a fool and think the was a competitive game, go right ahead. Oh JMU won the second half!!!! lol

4 was too few and I said that the day it was announced. 12 is too many and I said that the day it was announced.

The correct answer has always been 8. The 9th best team doesn't deserve a chance at the playoffs. They can't win 3 straight to win a championship.

Oregon until the fourth qtr only had 2 third downs and made both of them and overall averaged almost ten yards a play

Make no mistake the same folks that push this no G5 narrative will be coming for the ACC and Big 12 next.

How you do anything is how you do everything.

If you can't find 1 spot out of 12 to represent the 60+ G6 teams than you are simply a terrible person.
The answer was right there and could have been used THIS YEAR: 5+11.
8 home games. No Byes.
A terrible person?

The guy you are engaged has lost his marbles.

Oregon could have scored 80 but at some point, they just wanted to keep guys healthy for the next round. They came out of halftime with back-ups and played poorly, but thats hardly justification for including JMU in a college playoff.

I have no idea why people feel the need to lie knowing actual data exists.

Oregon had 32 players earn snaps on defense against JMU. BUT only 22 players had more than 10 defensive snaps.
Oregon did not empty the bench before the final drive. The starting strong safety played 76 of the 93 defensive snaps.

The lowest scoring Oregon defenders (pff grade) were starters or rotation players with 20+ snaps.

If you do not have a point and it is pointed out you lack said put for good grief just shut up and move on.

Doubling and tripling down on trash takes when you have zero data is goofy.
No one is asking for a mea culpa just move on.

and how many of them were going full out giving that last bit?

Dude, give it up. JMU did not belong and everyone knows it
your pathetic attempts to justify it just makes the non existent case for it go into negative numbers

Not often you hear a coach actually defer to other programs.

Tip of cap to Oregon coach Dan Lanning, who says that it seems weird that his Ducks are seeded 5, yet got to host a game but Texas Tech is seeded 4th and doesn't even get to host them this week.

We know its to appease the Bowls, but he has a point.

2nd round games could easily be hosted by the home teams.

He also say the schedule is weird and they should just stick with games every Saturday and not have these huge gaps.

This leads us back to the 16 team tourney with no bye weeks

Alabama vs Oklahoma game tonight.

Kalen's favorite Nike Hoodie has not helped him vs
Oklahoma the last couple games. Will he get the Tide to beat Oklahoma this time?
Final 8.

Who would you most like to see win it all?
1-8

Doesn't matter what we need. The money will dictate 20+ teams in the playoffs. Incredibly easy to see coming.

The TV contracts for those playoff games will surpass the GNP of most small countries.

I'd be okay with

16 teams, 5+11 format.
But, although this will never happen, he makes a point
Being that there will be huge money involved, why do you think 24 team playoff will never happen? It's inevitable. Might even be more.

24. Coming soon to stadiums near you!!!!!!

Possibly, but the number will end up in the 20s, so all that isn't relevant.

Watching him try to justify JMU is pretty funny.

Look, I get why these schools are included. I understand why it happened this year due to the ACC dropping a turd all over college football having a 5 loss conference champ. But the reality is that at the end of the day, these schools have ZERO chance to win a playoff game. Again, people need to stop trying to bring up March Madness when a small school upsets a power school. Basketball is entirely different than football.

It comes down to the goal here. Is the goal to have the best teams in the country play for a championship? Or is the goal something else?
