Honestly, that's a double standard. Investigations go on all the time, and it just seem folks pick and choose when to get self-righteous.

When Vick was being investigated, threads went hundred posts deep. Over cruelty to animals. Now that he's indicted, every update gets a minimum over a hundred. A domestic violence thread? = 20 posts over a 24 hr period.

Vick being investigated = Outrage
TO says something not quite PC = Outrage
Former NFLer investigated for domestic violence = *yawn*

It's simple

when your beating up, and killing Human's no one cares. Thats every day stuff. Who cares about that

But when you start kicking dogs and cats, oh boy we gotta fight. Those are our lovable animals, that are incapable of doing anything but loving us. We must kill all who dare to put harm to these wonderous animals

See Simple logic

Maybe you should read what I've said on the Vick case....
I have. And the post wasn't fully directed towards you. It's about the fact that the reactionaries haven't fell all over themselves bashing this guy.

I'm not a reactionary by nature, but I hate to see domestic violence cases of any kind. Even if he's not charged, based on their history, it's a volatile relationship.

Yeah I see that.

I thought it was directed at me since you quoted me.

And I agree. Its amusing (well, maybe not the best choice of words) that this is barely registered a blip compared to some other thread. In particular, Chris Henry threads.

He (allegedly - then proven wrong) does drugs; everyone cares. "What a thug" is the rallying cry.

Eaton (allegedly) beats his wife; jokes get made, no one cares.

There are two things wrong with this. But I don't want to be overly obvious in stating them....

What's even more sad is that even if she says she wants the charges dropped, they state will still prosecute him since he is the man.

You really think that is sad?

A lot of these women feel pressure to drop the charges when they really should not. They want to forgive and do many times over. He should be prosecuted no matter what she says IMO if he really did it.

I agree. Eaton could have walked out of the house if he was that PO'ed there is no excuse for him attacking his wife

Where is the outrage?

You guys make jokes about a woman getting beaten by her 300lb husband but are all up in arms about dog fighting.

Is there something wrong with this picture? I would take Vick over this guy any day of the week!!!

Because the article said investigation into domestic violence and nothing else.

Did not say he punched her, kicked her, threw her against the wall or what he did to her.

Plus it is not uncommon for these cases to pan out and we find out that the women called the cops in order to just get the guy in trouble knowing that the police will make an arrest no matter what.

It also states that she is the only one on record with a past of hitting HIM.

Maybe she was doing something again and he was defending himself by pushing her away.

If it turns out he was guilty of it I am sure he will not have love thrown his way.

But to turn this into a vick thing is silly and just goes to show the length that people will go in order to justify some things.

Last time I heard a man and woman have a choice to live together, have a choice to get up and turn a door knob and walk out. Do not require someone to give them food, do not force them into cages, do not transport them across state lines to fight with another person and if they lose they get an electric cord shoved up their butt and shocked to death.

Please don't make silly posts concerning what vick did to some thing completely different in order to justify your own stance. Because it does not work.

Plus the simple sad fact of the matter is Chad Eaton is a nobody compared to a Mike Vick.

Even if someone named Butt nugget Jones who was a 5th string WR from podunk U playing on the cleveland browns did the same thing as Vick...He would not get as much coverage.

Vick is a franchise QB that gets Mega Million dollar endorsement deals, puts butts in the seats for games, is overhyped to promote the league and now is involved with something that tarnishes that image and the NFL's image.

Chad Eaton is a nobody compared to that.

Be realistic.

Couldn't have happened to a better guy!

He has been trying to break into the local media here in Seattle. A couple years ago he was on sports radio 950 KJR and he said Aikman was gay. He wasn't joking or just hating on Aikman, he was trying to come off as a player passing on some some priveledged knowledge. He came off as a total highschool meathead.

A self defense move could be considered as a domestic violence. When my friend's crazy wife physically attacked him and he grabbed her arms to prevent her from striking him and when cops were called (he called them), he and her, both were charged with domestic violence. It seems unfair that he was charged with a domestic violence but according to the report, both were charged because they couldn't be determined who was the initiator of the physical confrontation.

It was only after his wife came to senses to make a statement of her being the initiator, they dropped the charge against him.

They are dogs here, OK. So, about being realistic, if you are comparing dogs to human beings then you need to be realistic!

We are talking about brutality to other human beings.

Sorry, big differnece in my view of things!

Does not make what Vick has done justifiable by any means.

I just think it is very odd that so many are so outraged, more about what is done to animals, than inhumanities done to human beings.

Your right however you’re talking about a domestic violence case of a husband and wife getting into it and those situations are rarely clear cut. If Eaton is beating his wife he deserves whatever he gets.

Not sarcastic at all. Very serious. Very little respect for a 300lb guy who would beat a 130lb woman. Very little respect for a guy like Vick too, but more than a wife beater. Sorry if that does not fit your moral order!

You are assuming quite a bit here. How do you know that those who are outrage at Vick's situation aren't outraged at other events? Just because it wasn't displayed on your computer screen?

I'm outraged at many of the world events but does that need to be expressed every time I talk about Vick?

Just one of my many examples but some of them get the post deleted so I am trying to make a point with ones that don't.
