Disgruntled Bengals WR Chad Johnson reportedly plans to show up for the mandatory minicamp on June 12. However, he's just going to report to the team and "not do anything" on the practice field according to a report from ProFootballTalk.com. Simply "reporting" avoids an offical breach of contract but creates a disruption unto itself. He'll blab to the media in the parking lot every day until the Bengals cave and ship him out to the highest bidder. It's a gamble because Ocho will forfeit a few game checks if this runs into September. But if/when he is traded, his new team will re-do his deal with a big pile of new guaranteed money, just like T.O. got in Dallas. Potential suitors for Ocho? We've got Washington at 3/2 odds, Dallas at 6/1, and Philadelphia at 8/1. Let's slip Miami in at 15/1 because Ocho lives there. Plus his cousin is Keyshawn Johnson, who's very close to Bill Parcells and could convince him to sign the 5-time Pro Bowler. The one team that should trade for him is Tennessee but they don't take chances like that. Put the Titans at 50/1.

Needs to be careful about his plan. T.O. was suspended for conduct detrimental to the team and he didn't do anything but call out his some of his teammates, coaches, and front office personel in the media.

I never understood how the NFLPA allowed the Filthadelphia Beagirls to take the steps they did, and yes, I know they took it to arbitration, but, basically, an NFL team told a player to shut his mouth and don't speak bad about anybody related to it. At the very least, there's a constitutional issue in there somewhere.

And to top it all, I've read before that Cincy does put a clauses in the players contracts that forbids them from speaking negatively about the team or it's employees.

That is kind of funny about talk you can lose your Job as a cop for saying things negative about the department if it goes to the news or even suspended

In the Army you lose some of the freedom of speech (yea the military you lose most your constitutional rights)

There is precedent out there that limits speech; in fact a preacher can get in trouble for politics ?

Religious figures cannot speak out about politics because it violates the "Separation of Church and State" clause in the First Amendment. Let me explain.

The church cannot legally allow their figureheads to actively assert themselves in a political campaign because their views influence the campaigner's judgment or platform.

The church can allow their employees to provide input to the media or a political outlet, such as a rally or debate due to its nature of having public input. Voting is also allowed due to their Constitutional right to do so.

Theoretically, any potential candidate cannot have any religious affiliation due to the influence it can have over him or her. But that's a debate for another time.

The good news for Eagles fans is that Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Johnson is at least thinking about wearing green.
The bad news is he's also thinking about life with a star on the side of his helmet.

"If I can get out of Cincinnati, the sky's the limit," Johnson told ESPN the Magazine. "What could I do in a place like Philadelphia or Dallas? It would be ridiculous. It's gonna be like a whole new me, like Ocho Cinco 2.0."

Johnson, who for some reason is serving as a guest editor for the magazine, said in the same story that he plans to play for the Bengals this season.

"Am I coming back?" he asked rhetorically. "Of course I am. I told my coaches I'm going to California to act, but the truth is I may come back to the Bengals as early as June. I may be crazy, but I'm not stupid."

Preaching turnovers
After finishing last season with a league-low 19 takeaways, Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Johnson is stressing getting to the ball in these minicamps. In fact, the defensive players are required to pick up the football and sprint with it even after incomplete passes.
"I don't know who started that, but it's getting on my nerves," safety Brian Dawkins said. "No, I'm just kidding. It's different. To me, it's all a part of conditioning also. You get to the ball and you pick it up. It's about practicing turnovers and picking them up and scoring. At the same time, it's about having a good time. You're supposed to have a good time on the defensive side of the ball."

Extra points
Quarterback Donovan McNabb will be at Citizens Bank Park tonight because he wants to meet Cincinnati Reds star Ken Griffey Jr. McNabb also plans to meet with Phillies first baseman Ryan Howard and may even take some batting practice. . . . Rookie fullback Jed Collins did not practice yesterday; his appendix was recently removed. . . . The Eagles will practice in the morning today, then attend their 10th annual playground-building project at the William Bryant School in the Cobbs Creek section of the city. The players will be there from 1 to 2:30 p.m.

TO's success in Dallas is eating away at McNabb and Eagles.

McNabb will play nice and kiss Chad's butt to no end(pun intended).... he needs Chad. But what Chad doesnt realize is that Kolb will be passing to him by game 8... if not sooner.

Given McNabb's history with TO, you gotta wonder how long he will survive with CJ whose also got a huge ego to go along with McNabb's. I'm a homer but still think best move for CJ would be to play in Dallas. He'd have a young QB to work with. Also playing on the most high profile team in the NFL, he'd get a chance grab the spotlight many times over; of course he'd have to share it with TO. Hmm. Could TO & CJ work together? Big question. Another question is how much money would Tony Romo have to pay out to a shrink to survive the season playing with those 2 guys.

I think that at this time in both players careers it is about their legacys', not egos.
