We clearly chose Tyron due to need. It is not always the wrong thing to do just as its not always the right thing to do BPA only. Matt Millen in Detroit was a fanatical BPA believer. Did not work too well.

Didn't he draft 4 wide receivers in the first round for four straight years?

If you are going to pick bpa, he better really be better than what you passed on. There obviously needs to be some kind of balance between bpa and the current roster. Matt screwed up both ways.

Tyron Smith was not a lesser player to anyone. We needed d line too and would not have messed up with watt, but to 77 was a perfect example of the balance between bpa and need.
