He's already running and cutting without a brace.

He will still wear it during training camp and preseason, obviously...but don't be surprised if he starts the season and the knee brace is nowhere to be found.

The fact that he's running and cutting without a brace is irrelavent. He'll probably be fine and be the starter on opening day. My point is that if he keeps running the option, and Shanahan will make him because he doesn't care about the player, then he won't last 2 years. Teams have already targeted him because of how good he is at running the option.

He never got injured running the option

Again, it doesn't matter if he got hurt on a play that wasn't an option read. It's what the Redskinds run the majority of the time and is what Griffin's very good at. When you're that good at something in the NFL, it comes with a giant target.

No, actually your point was that we Skins fans are "in denial" by not thinking the injury and required surgeries were as devastating as you keep insisting. Also, your point was that RG3 would need to still wear the knee brace which you said would make him less effective at the read option:

You: "Commander fans are in denial of how serious his injury was and his history of knee problems. He'll have to wear a knee brace which will limit his mobility. If he continues with the option that won't help him much."

Wrong again lol...the Skins ran the read option only 13% of all offensive plays.

Don't worry, his knee will be just fine. Better than ever. Actually his knee will allow him to keep running around like a chicken with his head cut off...only this time he will actually be able to pick up a fumble.

Although the doctors had to remove part of his body to repair another part of his body is nothing now days. It's like robbing Peter to pay Paul. Hell, Tiger Woods had a tendon taken from his thigh and transplanted into his right arm to give him better swing on the golf ball. His knee will be like brand new...golden!

In fact, if the surgeon that did his operation on his knee to make it stronger than it was, he should have done the other knee for good measure so that knee would be as strong as the other one.

That's nice.

We were talking about his brace, though lol...

If he is smart, he better wear one. Once you lose a joint... knee, elbow, toe, finger, shoulder, your are damaged goods.

Romo is damaged goods...punctured lung, broken ribs, fixing a flat tire....broken collar bone, all beat up!

But, Romo's most valuable weapon is his arm. Rg3 likes his legs. Let's see who does better this coming season.

From the sounds of your last few posts, you definitely have never lost a joint in your life lol ;)

I don't believe much that comes from ESPN. Regardless, Shanahan exposes Griffin via the option, run or pass plays. The option is what makes all of it successful. He didn't last his first full season and I don't think he'll be as effective after 2 years if he continues to be exposed as he has been.
Yes, fan perception trumps all lol :D

I think the disconnect is in what your average fan considers to be a "read option" play. Way too many think if the Skins are in the pistol formation, it s a read-option play. They have a problem differentiating between read-option plays and play action plays. They mistakenly believe that whenever Griffin ended up running down field it was a read-option play.

The average fan also believes that QB's with bum knees who run the ball often will be able to do that for years and years when in fact the educated fan knows better. :D

I'm guessing, then, that the average fan believes all ACL tears are "severe" ones, too? ;)

Actually, I love it that media members and certain fans like yourself and Amber continue to make it seem like Griffin's knee is hanging by a thread lol...it will end up leading to a bunch of "OMG! RG3 is superhuman afterall! He's already back from near-death and playing well again! He wasn't supposed to be doing this until 2015 at the earliest!"

Because of an incessant need to screw up the facts of his injury and surgeries and paint them in the most dire light possible, it's a given that the media pendulum will swing wildly in the other direction when he takes the field and is sprinting and cutting like old times. Had it all been reported and conveyed accurately, nobody would be nearly as shocked as they're gonna be acting in September and October. 6-8 months recovery time would have been appropriate for his surgeries...not 8-12 months which the media and fans have ran with.

Hanging by a thread.... dude I know better than that....and where did I screw up the facts of his surgery.

He had ACL reconstruction at Baylor, correct?
He tore his LCL and needed ACL replacement again on the right knee, correct?
He required patellar grafts from both knees. The first in 2009 and the latest in 2013, correct?

That's a lot of work on one knee no matter how burgundy/gold colored your glasses are.
I just don't think he will be running around as much. Of course I could be wrong.

Like I said, keep on exaggerating his injuries, I actually love that you and others are. If you think the hype over RG3 was unbearable before, just wait till you see how much the media hypes him up after thinking he has had a "miraculous" recovery from a "severe ACL tear" and having his "ACL replaced".

Who are you quoting as saying "severe ACL tear?"

Luckily Rob has the arm and the ability to adjust his game to a more pass oriented game. Links have been posted in this thread documenting that.

He still didn't get injured on a read option play last year where he kept the ball :)
