highly doubt they go with another defensive minded HC
You might be right. I'd think they understand they have their franchise QB and need someone to take advantage of that.

He's not going anywhere. DQ likes it here. Dallas has some of the best players in the NFL on defense.

Besides, I'm sure Jerry is paying him well.

He coached the Falcons for six years. Don't know if he wants that racket again.
Well then he would decline all interviews wouldn’t he?

Jerry has no problem paying him. It'll come down to whether DQ wants another shot at HC, or if he's enjoying his role with the Cowboys. It won't be a money issue.
Problem is sought after HCs get paid 15-20 million , Sean Payton, Bill Belicheck etc… that is too much money to turn down or match. Good thing we got potential 2 home playoff games that fill the coffers for Jerry

Jerry will pay him well as a coordinator, but I can't imagine he would pay him the $4-5 million/year a new head coach would make, much less the $8-12 million/year a successful head coach can work up to.
No cap on coaches and what does money mean to and old wildcatter who has little liver or time left on this earth? Besides money is no object for this feller.

I know there isn't a cap, and I could possibly see Jerry paying Quinn something around what the very lowest paid head coach might make, but no way would he try to compete with the middle/upper level a head coach could reach.

That said, I don't know what Quinn's aspirations are. His previous head coaching stint didn't go well, so he might be happy being the highest paid - or one of the highest paid - D-coordinators.

that's a thought , only I'd wondered what if that defensive minded HC candidate is just head and shoulders more qualified than the offensive HC candidates ?

Houston Texans hired ex-DC Demeco Ryans while nabbing their franchise QB in Stroud.
Ryans hired OC Bob Slovek to help lead rookie QB Stroud.

If you “Don’t know if he wants that racket again.” how can you say “He’s not going anywhere.”?
..just that gut feeling. I think he likes the media frenzy air in Dallas.

Always something happening. Never dull moment.

Stand by and stay tuned in so we both can find out that answer. He will or he won't. Then we move on accordingly.
