Somebody needs to put a hat on this freak of the week before his head explodes. I think the NFL should feel "snubbed" for the way he disregarded the substance abuse policy.

Ever heard of Shaun Phillips? He plays opposite Merriman and hes compiled 11.5 sacks himself this season. So when you have a guy like that across from a guy like Merriman its difficult to shade your blocking to certain sides. Not to mention DeMarcus drops back in coverage more than Merriman, and they have a much better defensive coordinator in San Diego. Stats mean nothing, Ware could put up similar numbers over there without the juice.

Merriman blitzes more than Ware.

Therefore, Merriman has more opportunities for sacks than Ware.

If Merriman was here, he'd be responsible for coverage just like Ware is, reducing his attempts. Secondly, if Merriman was here, opposing teams could shade their blocking to Merriman's side because no one else can generate a pass rush.

The problem we have would NOT be solved with Merriman replacing Ware. You would still see the same exact problems. Difference being, Ware is better in coverage, which comes in handy since we drop Ware off into coverage quite a bit.

Waiting for Merriman to exceed in anything in the NFL is pathetic. I personally do not want the NFL turned into the WWF. I would like for the kids interested in playing football not have to be subjected to broken down piles of flesh after a football career due to steriods. Yet another athlete, a shell of his former self, on television pleading for his life, due to steroids. Wasting time, money, energy and medicinal supplies trying to save their lives, due to steroids.

Right. Because having Merriman here instead of Ware is going to be a huge difference.

Its Ware's fault Spears and Canty have done a poor job at generating a pass rush this season.

Its Ware's fault Bradie James is getting killed in the passing game and cannot blitz.

Its Ware's fault we cannot get a pass rush from the other OLB spot.

Its Ware's fault Zimmer cannot design a pass rush, cannot generate a pass rush, or disguise a pass rush.

Its Ware's fault we had poor FS play throughout most of the first half of the season.

Its Ware's fault no one else besides him ever comes close to the QB.

Having Merriman would fix all of that.

I think it's pretty obvious that he meant his votes suffered because he missed four games, not because of the reason why he missed the 4 games
