No. That's exactly the opposite of what I ever said, which is the point of the post. The contention, during the off season, was to offer him an NFL record deal before he showed that he had taken the next step. My point of view was that we should wait to see if he is really the guy, rather then go down that path and I think most fans who were opposed to paying Dak 30 to 35 were in the same boat. People said, at the time, this was the market and I disagreed. No team, at that time, would have paid him that. This was my contention then and I'd say that it was factual. Nobody did offer him that money at the time. If he proves that he has taken the next step, then I am in favor of paying the guy, which is what I said then. Basically, my opinion hasn't changed at all on the matter.
