The Cowboys really had no one with that official title. Stephen Brown was the "offensive assistant" who supposedly was Garrett's helper in day-to-day operations and also helped with the run game.Who'd he replace?!
not even sure what they do.
"hey - you got quality out there? ok. just checking."

If I'm not mistaken, wasn't Wade Phillips' son the "Quality Control Coach" when Wade was here? I think he even stayed on after his dad was fired. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.Quality control coach is typically an entry-level position for National Football League (NFL) coaches before moving on to positional jobs and coordinator positions.
A quality control coach is a member of the coaching staff of a gridiron football team whose primary job is preparing the team for a game, beginning sometimes two or three weeks before the actual game.[1] Their primary duties include preparing for the game by analyzing game film for statistical analysis.
Offensive quality control will chart the upcoming teams' defense for various down and distance situations, field positions and how many times they use particular personnel groupings.

If the Dallas Cowboys organization really cared about “quality control”, they’d take a hard look at the GM position.

There was a point several years ago where I realized a lot of teams had a "quality control coach", and I had the same reaction. I had no idea what they did, s i looked it up, and as I recall they are primarily entry level coaches who are charged with reviewing and analyzing game film and coming up with a statistical analysis of what other teams do in different situations.not even sure what they do.
