For those jumping on Green, you do realize that you witnessed one of the worst tackle performances ever because the staff allowed it to happen.

You think some backup tackles throughout history wouldn't haven't been destroyed like that if not given help?

I really feel for Green, but he is like many before him, over matched at a particular time for whatever the reason. He may lack talent, might have been hurt, overwhelmed by the pressure of starting, who knows, doesn't matter.

But like all the backups before him, he deserved help if he was being overwhelmed, which he was. I'm still mad as hell that they refused to move a TE to his side, it's criminal they didn't.

My God, when his back up came in they left him on an island as well and our QB took more blindside shots, it was pathetic.

Coaches gives player an opportunity to grow. Yes, you are correct. the coach should have made the adjustment, but Green should have been smart enough to begged for help and drop his ego- simple as that.
I don't know what more he could have done. He looked lost out there. Anyone sitting on the couch at home could see that. Don't know why our coaches couldn't.

Man, i get madder the more i type, the fact that Green had to sit in that locker room fielding questions about a performance like that is a shame.

The scenario should be a film room discussion today among the coaches that Green's play necessitated a TE on his left all game, and how much, or whether, it hindered their offense etc.. not Green hanging his head taking all the heat.

ATLANTA – Two dozen reporters swarmed Chaz Green’s locker after the Cowboys’ decisive 27-7 loss to the Atlanta Falcons, a team-wide struggle on the road Sunday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Green, the Cowboys’ fill-in starter for injured All-Pro Tyron Smith at left tackle, stood in front of the media and took full responsibility.

“It just hurts because I feel like this was on my shoulders,” Green said. “I feel like I let the team down.”

If any fool ever says that Chaz Green is a good player again he should be banned from ever posting again.

Blah blah blah...he sucks and I don't want to see him on the field in any capacity again. Like Romo said, football is a meritocracy and you aren't handed anything. Green had his chance to prove himself and he blew it. Next!

That's the problem. There is no "next". Byron Bell was arguably worse.

Yes, he let the team down.

But it's hard to get mad at someone if they are trying as hard as they can but just aren't good enough.
Sure, I get mad, then rationality sets in.
He was often (not always) on an island out there and was overmatched.
Some was technique, so theoretically fixable. But some was just that he may never have it.
It's not like he didn't care or wasn't trying. He just got roasted.

What part do Dak and Frederick play in setting protections? I just don't understand how the guys on the field couldn't adjust. One play Clayborn was playing 9-technique. They slid protection towards Green, but Green didn't widen enough to pursh Clayborn back inside to the LG, so he just ran around both the LT and LG for a sack. Green actually pinned his own LG inside. It was ridiculous.

Ive seen kids hurt after letting their team down. I don't care how much they get paid, it sucks to be in his shoes. I hope he can overcome this and get better. Cue the critics, I understand. Just seen this up close and personal and it' not a laughing matter.

I can remember our early Aikman years teams getting demonized by the Eagles. 11 sacks in one game. Many of the O lineman were than part of the later day Great Wall. Once Larry Allen and Stepnoski joined the cohesiveness came together, and even then though not allowing a lot of sacks , we had some losses and had to fight to beat the Giants in the last game of the year with a wounded Emmitt to beat them and go on to SB...

It all wasn't steam roller for even the greats...

Silver Lining:

Adam Schefter
This is called a great day at the office: Falcons DE Adrian Clayborn’s 6 sacks Sunday earned him a $750,000 incentive, per source. Clayborn has a $750K incentive for eight sacks in season and he entered game with two. Two more gets him $1.25 million. Cha-Ching.

He should give Chaz something to thank him for all this.

Erik Williams changed everything.

Larry Allen was drafted in 94 after they had won 2 Super Bowls.

Chad Green is the latest entrant into the Hall of All-time Suckage. RDE's of the Cowboys' remaining opponents have just marked their calendars. They're lining up like the queue to slap the hysterical woman in the movie 'Airplane!'

I feel bad for the guy. He was trying, but wasn't playing well or getting much help. He did let his team down, but the coaches didn't do him any favors.
