I'm not trying to be a smart *** but if this front office/coaching staff can't build a championship team while Dak is making pennies, what gives you confidence that they can do it when he's taking up 1/7th of the salary cap.

A year or two from now he could be taking up 1/7th of the salary cap, D-Law could be on another team, and the Irving experiment could be over. That's two elite players gone and a lot of financial flexibility lost (I realize we get some back by not letting D-Law go). The sense of urgency to win now should be at an all-time high.

You took no time to give this thought uh. lol Dak is entering his 3rd season, hell they gave Romo 14 years. So what is Dallas to do cut Dak because you and some others don't think he can do the job? lol.

Cooper Rush to the rescue for all the Dak haters!

What confuses me is that the Cowboys under Jones have historically had an aggressive, win-now mentality that sometimes worked (e.g. Haley and Sanders acquisitions in the 90s) and sometimes didn't (e.g. Roy Williams trade).

Nowadays it seems like FO is overly cautious and scared of spending the big $ when it makes sense, like now. I wonder if Jerry is losing control in place of other conservative decision-makers...

Should not the sense of urgency to win it all be the goal for any given year?
In today's salary cap I don't think that's realistic or smart for some teams. Not all teams are peaking like we seem to be with this roster. Some teams need to sacrifice the present for a better future.

Im always for a long term plan. Which I believe they have adapted to. I also dont believe this is a championship squad. A year or two away if things continue to go well and are done right.

I hope Rush and White both do good but this is Dak team for now and it falls to Dak to go out and produce and lead this team. If he does he will get an extension if he doesn't then he likely will get a much smaller pay check in Dallas or else where

Yes I realize that, but still teams go into the season...we are talented, if things go right we can with it all.
Well fans do that more than the teams I guess.
But if the teams and players can’t beleove they can win it all. Then they should not be in the business.

And I do know what you mean, just having some fun to be different.
