Dak's performance last year was adversely affected by the outrageously poor backup situation with Chaz Green being more of a matador than an offensive guard. Bell wasn't much better, if at all. There were times when Dak didn't even have time to set up, much less deliver the ball with any semblance of accuracy. The Atlanta game all but destroyed his confidence in the OL to protect him.
Let's wait and see what happens this year before coming to premature conclusions that he can't perform up to snuff. With football being a team sport and all, his receivers will be obliged to get open with some degree of regularity -- something that was sorely missing last year. I think we'll see a much better level of success this year in the way that this newly overhauled offense operates. At least, let's hope so.
The new WRs were chosen largely for their abilities to gain good separation. I think it will help the passing game somewhat and allow Zeke more running room in turn. Let's see if Dak can soften up the defenses enough to make the yards come far easier for the running game to thrive, although it may take a few games to make that happen. Expect a period of adjustment for Dak and his many new receivers to get fully into sync.
Yea, every team in the league lost players to injury. He still had 4 other OL that were pretty dang good. Dak just isn’t talented enough to overcome much I’m afraid.
He’s great when we have a lead though
