Cheap Dak

Dak's performance last year was adversely affected by the outrageously poor backup situation with Chaz Green being more of a matador than an offensive guard. Bell wasn't much better, if at all. There were times when Dak didn't even have time to set up, much less deliver the ball with any semblance of accuracy. The Atlanta game all but destroyed his confidence in the OL to protect him.

Let's wait and see what happens this year before coming to premature conclusions that he can't perform up to snuff. With football being a team sport and all, his receivers will be obliged to get open with some degree of regularity -- something that was sorely missing last year. I think we'll see a much better level of success this year in the way that this newly overhauled offense operates. At least, let's hope so.

The new WRs were chosen largely for their abilities to gain good separation. I think it will help the passing game somewhat and allow Zeke more running room in turn. Let's see if Dak can soften up the defenses enough to make the yards come far easier for the running game to thrive, although it may take a few games to make that happen. Expect a period of adjustment for Dak and his many new receivers to get fully into sync.

Yea, every team in the league lost players to injury. He still had 4 other OL that were pretty dang good. Dak just isn’t talented enough to overcome much I’m afraid.

He’s great when we have a lead though

Count on another decade of futility

Maybe...But Will McClay has been pretty successful at finding players to fit Marinelli's scheme. Kris Richards
knows what kind of player can fit those safety positions. We will at least start the season with 11 players on
defense for sure.

Can't win championships with substandard front office, coaches and players which we have all three.

I'm not trying to be a smart *** but if this front office/coaching staff can't build a championship team while Dak is making pennies, what gives you confidence that they can do it when he's taking up 1/7th of the salary cap.

A year or two from now he could be taking up 1/7th of the salary cap, D-Law could be on another team, and the Irving experiment could be over. That's two elite players gone and a lot of financial flexibility lost (I realize we get some back by not letting D-Law go). The sense of urgency to win now should be at an all-time high.
I see what your saying, Seattle did it while Russell was cheap, but this isnt Seattle.
They blew 2017, and by not getting a good safety may have blown 2018, just have to wait and see.
Once they pay Dak it will be harder, but they may not pay dak, it depends on what happens this year, and maybe 2019.

Cowboys are using the process, which is undefined, and seems to keep changing.

Sounds like your mind's made up and I'm done trying to change it.

Good luck to you finding another QB on the team that's any better.

I think you're going to find out that he's far better than you thought.

That's a valid concern.

Yeah I dont think they think about that lol, Dak is better than any QB we could get right now.

Prescott being cheap is way overrated considering how Dallas is approaching things.

They are afraid to commit future cap space to anyone else in anticipation of what they believe will be a huge deal.

They refused to pay Lawrence. They refuse to go after Thomas because of the cap implications.

"Cheap Dak" is a myth. It is more like Stephen Jones is ridiculously cheap and approaches team building in a poor way because he is incapable of negotiating deals that allow a lot of wiggle room.

You’re so negative all the time.
