Cheating, does it bother anyone else?

It's kind of pervasive in our society in general. Our leaders are constantly blurring the lines and everyone has a win at all costs, scorched Earth, the ends justify the means mentality.

Wall Street is no better and business ethics seems like an oxymoron.

Celebrities all cheat time with plastic surgery, singers auto-tune and lip sync.

Glad to see this - 1st of my two points:

  1. Cheating is in all sports, on all teams - everywhere
  2. Let's get the facts in before rushing to judgement

Aaron Hernandez went to Florida, not Miami.

Jonathan Vilma never played for New England so I am not sure why you are putting him in there.

And if you have information about Wilfork doing "thuggish" things then you know something no one else knows, unless you consider helping pull a trapped woman from her overturned car after last week's AFCCG thuggish.

Aqib Talib, Legerette Blount, Ben Watson, Donte Stallworth, Corey Dillion, Brandon Spikes are a few of the questionable character guys on the Pats. They are not immune from trouble.

They overlooked a lot of the red flags with Aaron Hernandez because of his talent. That is why he fell in the draft to the 4th round. They don't get any credit for cutting him once he was arrested for murder. He will never spend a day out of jail again in his life. It wasn't a hard decision to cut him.

+1 +1 +1

Furthermore, anyone who was truly, sincerely interested in competitive balance, fairness and "the integrity of the game" would have to be honest and admit that it is not good competitive balance and it does not help the integrity of the game to hold one franchise to a standard which is so obscenely higher than the standard to which you hold the other 31 franchises.

Minnesota was caught taught tampering with footballs to make them easier to grip and handle and they got a letter of warning and the whole thing was over within a day.
New England was accused of tampering with footballs to make them easier to grip and handle and they are getting a 3-month investigation and a major distraction while preparing for the most important game of the season.

....and Ray Lewis?

is that the "everyone does it" excuse again?
It's not an excuse, it's a factual statement that anyone who was truly, sincerely interested in fairness and competitive balance would have to admit that comparable, equal crimes deserve comparable, equal penalties.

Which brings me back to what I've been saying all along: The haters' outcry over the past 2 weeks isn't about competitive balance and fairness and cheating, otherwise they would have shown the same outrage at all the many other examples of other teams getting caught with their hands in the cookie jar. Rather, it's been about taking out their jealousy by lashing out at the target which creates the jealousy.

actually im not jealous of the pats at all. i really enjoy seeing a team dominate and really enjoy seeing a good organization. the recent happenings with the pats though (and together with their history) has really given me a hard time to give them the benefit of the doubt. that and the recent Correlation between Deflategate and the Patriots' statistical numbers in fumbles and the Pat becoming nearly fumble proof after a 2006 rule change backed by Tom Brady really really really adds to my feelings about them. Where there is smoke there is usually fire. True its all circumstantial evidence but still its hard for me to give them the benefit of the doubt.

so its not jealousy. it would be jealousy if they were doing it clean and the right way. its something else entirely. in jealousy i can admire the team and still not like them (because im a Cowboys fan) but not when they keep being scandalous. its sad really.

You know that Ray Lewis didn't kill anyone

You know that the people that did were found Not Guilty by self defense

That makes a you a liar

Said by someone that has been jumping to conclusions all week long

So walk your talk and don't pull the trigger just yet.

I know they crack down on what you can bring into stadiums now but I'm guessing at some point during the SB they will show somebody somewhere in those stands with a deflated football.

Yeah it has nothing to do with the fact that Patriots game just happened and was the last game any of us have watched and oh yeah, just happened to be the AFC Championship game.

No, no you're right it all about 'haters' because no one else is obsessed with finding other instances of cheating to help make you feel better about yourself for trying to defend a bunch of cheaters.
