Just because he has a strong arm means NOTHING. That many mistakes in a QB that has been sitting and watching for 2 full years is not a good outing. That is what you would expect from a rookie in the first game or so of the season.

i've come to think no first outing is "really" good - but it's gotta be done and the players gotta learn " on the field " rivers will be fine.

henson wasn't going to give us any shot at winning the game in chicago, he played terrible.. i wasn't happy at all with vinny at QB last season, so i wanted to see the change, but when henson was in there he really didn't do much... remember his first play against the ravens?

I would love to see what Romo or Henson has. But after last year and seeing Vinny play after we already knew we was out of the playoffs. I don't see it happening

Bledsoe will have to make that call, and we already know what will happen there.

someone earlier today said "what other coach is playing 2nd stringers!!!" i was pointing out in that game both did - 1 due to injury.

in washington drew shoulda been pulled to prevent injury to our "best chance". he wasn't cause he "didn't feel like it".

so someone smarted off asking who would do it and we saw where 1) it shoulda been done and 2) it was.

if we're not in "the hunt" we should see romo and/or hensen also. that's all i'm saying. you wanna go on a drew'scriticsjihad, have fun.

I would say Henson was doing just fine for his first game. He only threw one pick and he gets yanked at halftime?? Gee how many picks did Vinny throw last year and how many times did he get yanked at halftime?

vinny by no means in my opinion was a good qb, but that was a winnable game and hensons INT went for a touchdown, he was 4\12 for 31 yards, great stats, we could definitely have won with them

i wouldn't mind us looking at rivers but i doubt he wants to sit and "season" for a 3rd year while in eli's third year he's leading his team to the NFC East. wait, he did that in his 2nd year...

there is the fundamental difference. it DOES matter. you have few opportunities to give your backup qb's some reps and we've wasted 1/2 a game, 2 games last year, and 1/2 a game this year. 12 quarters of potential experience we could give to our backup qb's AT NO REAL COST TO THE TEAM yet we don't.

the last time cause drew didn't wanna come out.

I hope the Cowboys are not even thinkin of goin after Rivers. Rivers makes a tree stump look like Michael Vick. He has a weak arm. There are alota punters that would love to have the hang time that Rivers has when he throws the ball. Horrible throwin motion.

Please say no to Rivers. I would even take Vinny back before goin with Rivers.

Hey he might have had a better second half. We might have won that game anyway. But still he didn't play bad enough to be replaced by the guy who is supposed to be injured. Not a real confidence booster if you ask me.

But we will never know, just like come sunday when we are already out of the picture. We won't see Romo nor will we see Henson, unless Bledsoe gets hurt or something bad like that. And that's a shame when your too stubborn to play your backup's because you want to win to bad.

If tomorrow's game means nothing to us,I could care less at that point if we win or loose. I just want to see our backup's get some playing time. We are going to be in trouble if Bledsoe ever goes down next year, and our backup's are still wet behind the ears.

Nothing I saw from him today impressed me. I think it was telling that the Chargers did not plan on playing him today but Brees injury forced them into it. I think they did not anyone to see too much of Rivers, so they could get trade value for him based on his high draft status and not an honest evaluation.
As I said before, 1st round qbs are about 50-50, boom or bust, there is no reason to gamble it all on Rivers, other pieces can be added to this team to let us be competitive sooner rather than later.
