You mean like Flowers did? His performance level hasn't matched his pay. That is why he was cut. Why should we make the same mistake on him...he isn't going to come in as a vet minimum or even cheap guy.

KC already paid his bonus, the Cowboys could even turn the base salary into bonus and make this years cap lower.
His current salaries if picked up:

2014 5.25
2015 6.25
2016 6.50

Carr
2014 8.00
2015 9.10
2016 10.00

Flowers is not a FS. He's 5'9", 185 pounds, and despite being a very good and willing tackler, he would be abused by tight ends. He's a corner.
This.....
Everybody in the league is looking for bigger corners these days. Receivers are getting bigger and stronger. Let's us go bigger not smaller. Go back and look at the first few series against kc last yr. dez was abusing him and then for whatever reason, we stopped going at him. Unless he has skills as a pass rusher, I'd pass.

He's over 5'9 1/2 surprised they didn't round up on his roster height like most teams.

Dez can abuse any CB out there one on one. Flowers is a pro bowl CB for a reason man. He is a solid player. He did have a bad year last year in part because of the different scheme KC switched to. But make no mistake, he is a solid player.

Thank you. The guy is a decent corner but even then at his size he is going to have issues against bigger WR anyway. Just because his a good corner doesn't mean he would easily make the transition.

Thomas Everette played for us at 5'9" 190 in the early 90s and was one of our most underrated FS in the history of the franchise. Size does NOT matter, if you have a nose for the ball....

I think it matters in the draft when the player is an unknown. The bigger, faster players have better odds of making the jump. But once they are known quantities it doesn't mean as much.

So, are we cutting Carr to add Flowers? This helps us at S how? Carr good for 5.7m dead money this year and 12m next. We only have 1.6m in projected sal cap space next year. Adding Flowers and cutting Carr would mean having to start manipulating the cap in and we still don't have Dez resigned.

I'm for improving the team, but at this point, I would think a good LB or DL far outweighs adding another corner.

Everett was a safety from day one when he started with Pittsburgh and Flowers doesn't like to tackle and hasn't ever played safety to my knowledge...but other than that you are correct, size doesn't completely matter.

While you say size doesn't matter, I am sure that the huge majority of NFL players at a given position probably fall within 5-10% of each other...so the reality is that the exceptions are very few and the ones that are difference makers despite not fitting the general size requirements are even fewer still.

Dump Heath, add Flowers if the price is right...maybe he'd take a paycut to be back with his old running buddy, Carr....then move him to FS....he's ALREADY better than Heath, even if he's never played S before EVER! And remember, Carr CAN play FS and he was really adequate at the position when Ryan used to move him back there...

I'm not sure where you get that he doesn't tackle. I've always heard since he was drafted that he was solid in that area. He averaged more than 60 combined tackles a year.

This is a spot on review. I'm all over this if I'm Jerry/Stephen. If we could get him in for a cap friendly deal that would be fantastic. He would instantly be our #4CB. The question is...what is his market value?

I'm all over it too but I seriously doubt we go after him. I would assume several teams are licking their chops right now and he will be picked up quick.

Brandon Flowers made the Pro Bowl last year. What has Jocquel Skinner done? I understand that the cap ultimately may prevent a move, but having 90 guy's already shouldn't be the reason they don't or won't pull the trigger.

Flowers did not like the way he was played in the press scheme... well if you play FS for the Boys then you would never be in a press situation :D just saying.

Weeden to Flowers in minicamp, I can see it now.

That's more of a college and high school sports thing.

Generally NFL teams round up at 1/2 inch. I don't know if they do it anymore, but the Falcons use to add a couple inches to their shorter players.
