Chiefs release Brandon Flowers

Flowers is 5'9".....he's a CB....he is not better at safety than our guys. He's a slot CB who can't cover the big WRs outside.

Mo wouldn't be going anywhere. Carr is the one with the big contract.

That is true but in my opinion Carr is the better player and has single handed won us several games with clutch plays. I believe we use him incorrectly. We try to throw him on an island with bad safety help.

I'm usually not one to jump on every big name released... but I really like Flowers as a player.

He's one tough SOB and plays with an edge. I don't know if he would be able to play safety, but if he's willing I just might take a look and talk to him about $.

Like I said, usually I'm on the other side of the fence on something like this, but players of his quality don't usually come available. I wouldn't blame the team at all if they did it.

You mean like Flowers did? His performance level hasn't matched his pay. That is why he was cut. Why should we make the same mistake on him...he isn't going to come in as a vet minimum or even cheap guy.

Somewhere in between and that's okay. Mo just isn't the guy we need.

He is still young as well. I'd love that secondary of Flowers, Carr, Claibrone, Scandrick. Can we afford him?

Where did I say that? No where. But I did say we don't know what his market value is.

Bout half what Ware was, and probably the same impact on this Defense.

2014 is bleak, Flowers is a No-Brainer for 5 mil. he gives the Defense some hope, right now FS is a wishing well.

I think potentially a strength on our defense could eventually be the CBs. So unless Flowers or one of them can be a great FS,no thanks.

Thomas Everette played for us at 5'9" 190 in the early 90s and was one of our most underrated FS in the history of the franchise. Size does NOT matter, if you have a nose for the ball....

Hard Hittin Thomas Everette....got him in the 3 act of his career, but man I've seen him put some hits on folks.

Eh. If the Boys thought he could help them and would be a good addition to the roster then I'm all for it.

FA signings like this are ones that I can take it or leave it. I really don't care.

Our predicament in terms of our salary cap status is prohibitive for acquiring vet FAs. We'll most likely stick with in-house guys.

The Cowboys have 10M in cap space. They could acquire players if they wanted to go that route, but this is a developmental year and they would likely only be interested in veterans that they see as contributors in the future as well as this season. I don't see any reason that they would be interesting in Flowers this season. They have to keep some spots open to develop young players.
