The thing is my first inclination is to laugh at the hire, but do I really know he won't be any good? I do not. I certainly wouldn't want to be the one to give him his shot but I can't say the guy won't succeed.

We shall see. He was a complete dork as a backup QB and very hated in Philly during that time. So I'll enjoy their reaction to the hire. It'll go over like a shart.

At least niners fans don't have to worry about him getting rid of all the good talent on the team...they don't have any.

SF just left everything that has ever succeeded for them in the past on the football field. Chip was hired to save Kaep' career; if he can't succeed in that offense, then they'll let him go and fire Kelly and go back to their roots in two years.

Nothing in SF fits Chip other than the QB for the read option.

Challenges:
Much worse OL than Philly
No talent at WR
An even worse, decimated defense than Philly
Looking up at Rams, Seahawks, and Cardinals in order to search for success.

Probably. I just don't see Kelly and Kaep getting along, at all. I also think Kaep may have burned some bridges in that organization.

I think he'll be shopped and they'll target a QB early. Doubt anyone's going to pick him up but I think they'll try.

Or maybe I'm wrong and they roll with him. It will be fun watching him try and compete in that division though.

lol they are not going to keep Kaep. Especially with that contract. 18 mil per season. Kaep is gone. Gabbert is garbagge. theyre going QB. And dont say restructure Kaeps deal because all ur doing is pushing money down like Romo.

His salary is only 11.9 mil with a 2 mil bonus and 1.125 mil roster bonus so about 14 mil next year. They have until April 1 to decide if will be on the roster. He doesn't make 18 mil until 2020 so it is a good contract for the Niners. Spots talk radio and people close to the Niners are saying that the Kelly will probably keep Kap because he is the type of qb that can run his offense. We will see how this plays out though.
