Jeez, you guys. Again? Here's a picture. Is this along the lines of what you're talking about? Because it's actually not holding.

what if the O linemans right arm was also fully around Micahs body to the point where he could almost join his hands together?
Agree this isnt holding quite yet, but some were worse than this

Guess you didn't watch the game.

Sorry, but actually it was, about 2 frames after this one. Any still photo can show it was legal, but keep watching a rolling film and you see that it turns into holding real quick. The OP is correct, I was yelling and pointing it all game, so was my wife who hates football and doesn't understand the rules!
IMO it was egregious how bad and bias the refs were trying to keep the bears in it. So many missed holding calls and the reversed fumble call all should be talked about on national tv to put pressure on the NFL and their league of Gestapo officials.

Dude we have disagreed about plays before. The whole Dez catch no catch stuff but I saw a few blatant holds yesterday where the defender was beat so he just wrestled him by the neck from behind bending him back. Parsons will end up injured over this before they start calling it. And the picture you showing is questionable. The defenders helmet should be in front of him but his hands are not holding the shoulder pads he is in the chest area. That’s ok.

This was on their last TD play that wasn’t called

Yeah he will never get close to the ball if they do that. I saw one they were on his back choking him bending him backwards and they didn’t call it. Right in front of the refs. They got away with a lot of big plays doing this.

Fodder for the debate:

(c) Use his hands or arms to materially restrict or alter the defender’s path or angle of pursuit. It is a foul regardless of whether the blocker’s hands are inside or outside the frame of the defender’s body. Material restrictions include but are not limited to:
(1) grabbing or tackling an opponent;
(2) hooking, jerking, twisting, or turning him; or
(3) pulling him to the ground.

then there is this:
(i) if, during a defensive charge, a defensive player uses a “rip” technique that puts an offensive player in a position that would normally be holding.

and this:
Exception: Holding will be called if the defender’s feet are taken away from him by the blocker’s action.

It is my understand that if a defender uses a "rip" technique and the blocker winds up in the position pictured (arm around defender) it is not a penalty. But I have seen it called in the past. I do not think the rip move allows the block carte blanche to hold. Also, I don't think Micah uses the rip move every time he charges. He has other moves.

My question is why does the rip move exonerate a blocker from holding if he continues to use his arm to impede the defender? It seems a bit quirky.

You can clearly see here (starting around the :34 second mark) the guy has two handfuls of Micah's jersey. He practically bends him backwards and nearly lifts him off the ground. It most certainly IS a hold.

I’ve yet to meet an NFL fan base that doesn’t think they get the short end of the sticks from the refs or who can’t pull up clips from each game where calls were missed. Ours just seems to complain about it more

Give me a link to the forum threads on other team's forums where they have documented as much evidence as we have over the last 10 years.

No. I don’t spend my time pretending the refs are out to get us or worrying about proving it.

It's called sleep, bro. Lol.

Give him a few hours, the guy's gotta get a little sleep! You can count on MarcusRock to show up and do his job! He'll defend Uncle Goodell and the money-games of the league, as always.

No matter how laughable his posts are...he keeps on dishing. Gotta admire a man doing his job, I guess:rolleyes:, no matter the depths it takes him. :eek:

The problem with people like you and the other whiners is you can't deal with truth. That is all I do here (there's a few of us still out there). And because it doesn't co-sign your whine, y'all get mad that everyone just doesn't go along with what's favorable to you and the team, by hook or crook if need be. I mean among the hundreds of "Micah gets held all the time" claims, we have 1 video, and it's not even Micah. 1. I haven't seen another this season so far. And to top it off, it comes on the heels of a blatant lie by the OP. Do you not think that has bearing on marring the case for CONSPIRACY! many of you like to push? But no one cares about that, you just want your way. Well, truth is truth. Don't whine when it gets presented to you. I don't. I disagreed with the butt fumble overturn and acknowledge the refs missed that hold in the video shown in here. But 1 in 100s of whines and in the face of lies does not an anti-Cowboys movement make.

Perfect. Hopefully Micah (and 85% of this board) takes this opportunity to learn the rules on holding because maybe he'd get more if he didn't use the rip move a ton. He got one yesterday when he didn't use it. For those who don't know the exceptions listed in the holding rules, here they all are. So when people swear up and down they see holding, chances are they don't even know what they're looking at. Pertinent exceptions highlighted in red. (e) applies to this play.

RULE 12
ARTICLE 3. ILLEGAL BLOCK BY OFFENSIVE PLAYER.
Blocking Notes:

(1) When a defensive player is held by an offensive player during the following situations, Offensive Holding will not be
called:

(a) if the runner is being tackled simultaneously by any defensive player;
(b) if the runner simultaneously goes out of bounds;
(c) if a Fair Catch is made simultaneously;
(d) if the action clearly occurs after a forward pass has been thrown to a receiver beyond the line of scrimmage;

(e) if the action occurs away from the point of attack and not within close-line play;
(f) if a free kick results in a touchback;
(g) if a scrimmage kick simultaneously becomes a touchback;
(h) if the action is part of a double-team block, unless the defender splits the double team, gets to the outside of either
blocker, or is taken to the ground; or

(i) if, during a defensive charge, a defensive player uses a “rip” technique that puts an offensive player in a position
that would normally be holding.
Exception: Holding will be called if the defender’s feet are taken away from him by the blocker’s action.
(2) If a blocker falls on or pushes down a defender whose momentum is carrying him to the ground, Offensive Holding will
not be called unless the blocker prevents the defender from rising from the ground.
(3) If the official has not seen the entire action that sends a defender to the ground, Offensive Holding will not be called.
