No. I don’t spend my time pretending the refs are out to get us or worrying about proving it.

Pointing out a missed call doesn't make one a conspiracy theorist, just someone pointing out a missed call. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

Granted some try to make it a conspiracy, but that doesn't mean you can never complain about a missed call. Some people get upset about the officiating, some people get upset about people complaining about the officiating.

Totally, 100% agree. I certainly point out missed calls all the time that go against us. My point was about people who act like the refs are actively cheating against us or that the calls are always lopsided against us. Missed calls go both ways. Sometimes we get the worst of it and sometimes we get the best of it. It evens out in the long run. We spent all preseason talking about how this team is worse than other teams in the penalty department. Maybe it’s not the refs as much as it is us.

Perfect. Hopefully Micah (and 85% of this board) takes this opportunity to learn the rules on holding because maybe he'd get more if he didn't use the rip move a ton. He got one yesterday when he didn't use it. For those who don't know the exceptions listed in the holding rules, here they all are. So when people swear up and down they see holding, chances are they don't even know what they're looking at. Pertinent exceptions highlighted in red. (e) applies to this play.

RULE 12
ARTICLE 3. ILLEGAL BLOCK BY OFFENSIVE PLAYER.
Blocking Notes:

(1) When a defensive player is held by an offensive player during the following situations, Offensive Holding will not be
called:

(a) if the runner is being tackled simultaneously by any defensive player;
(b) if the runner simultaneously goes out of bounds;
(c) if a Fair Catch is made simultaneously;
(d) if the action clearly occurs after a forward pass has been thrown to a receiver beyond the line of scrimmage;

(e) if the action occurs away from the point of attack and not within close-line play;
(f) if a free kick results in a touchback;
(g) if a scrimmage kick simultaneously becomes a touchback;
(h) if the action is part of a double-team block, unless the defender splits the double team, gets to the outside of either
blocker, or is taken to the ground; or

(i) if, during a defensive charge, a defensive player uses a “rip” technique that puts an offensive player in a position
that would normally be holding.
Exception: Holding will be called if the defender’s feet are taken away from him by the blocker’s action.
(2) If a blocker falls on or pushes down a defender whose momentum is carrying him to the ground, Offensive Holding will
not be called unless the blocker prevents the defender from rising from the ground.
(3) If the official has not seen the entire action that sends a defender to the ground, Offensive Holding will not be called.

On this play, I forget where Fields goes? Does he scramble to the right? Seems like the blocking is set up for him to go left but the clip cuts off all the action.

I tend to agree with you on some of the overkill the fans go here with the calls, but there were a few blatant holds on the Bears that went uncalled. On one, you can see the TE literally grab Parsons ata the shoulder pads and basically pull him to the ground. It was about an obvious a hold as you could see and yet went missed.

Wasn't missed. The ref actually told Micah why it wasn't called and it's right in the rules I just posted. These are the rules fans don't even know about when they whine. Sure, disagree, but fans need to at least know they're talking about as they make their case.

Fields makes a pass to the right corner of the end zone to that TE that hadn't caught a pass in 2 years the announcer was saying.

Why am I fuzzy on this play? LOL. I remember Kmet caught it but forget where Fields threw form. The pocket? Did he roll right?

Because if he just dropped back, I am not sure how a ref can conclude that the hold there on Parsons had no bearing on the outcome of the play.

I saw at least 4 holds around the necks of players that were not called. I am not one that complains about officials, but even my wife was like ***? All 4 were clear as day and not called. They ended up as big plays for the Bears. So happy the NFL got in bed with Vegas. Sigh...
I call them arm bars and they used to be called 100% of the time now well i guess for the sake if some games they won't want to call them all because it would be like 10 a game against our defense..they are the most held team with the least holding calls ....

it sux watching Parsons get constantly held and could have more sacks ,.,.you can see the disgust on his face and our HC in the refs faces the last 2 games .. add in the bogus Roughing call that negated a INT, , the fumble that nevr was etc etc..

they the ref clowns kept extending drives for the Bear Cubs and i give them 14 Points in assists.. gave would have been more than a blowout never close had the zebras called clean game..

Of course the action occurred away from the play. He’s a pass rusher trying to get to the QB.

also this Exception: Holding will be called if the defender’s feet are taken away from him by the blocker’s action.

A lot if calls are up to the refs discretion. But this was bad and the overturned fumble was bad. Had the call not ruled a fumble on the field I am ok with the call. But there was no angle that showed he was able to regain possession

Micah was rushing the QB and could have well sacked him, hurried his throw or forced him to run so to say it did not effect the outcome of the play is as ludicrous as saying it's OK because it was a rip move. It was not a rip move and the guy had two fists full of Micah's jersey and bent him over backwards with it almost lifting him off his feet. It's clear on the video.

Jeez, you guys. Again? Here's a picture. Is this along the lines of what you're talking about? Because it's actually not holding.

I totally disagree. Here is the NFL definition of offensive holding
Use his hands or arms to materially restrict an opponent or alter the defender’s path or angle of pursuit. It is a foul regardless of whether the blocker’s hands are inside or outside the frame of the defender’s body. Material restrictions include but are not limited to:

  1. grabbing or tackling an opponent;
  2. hooking, jerking, twisting, or turning him; or
  3. pulling him to the ground.

I think the relaxed holding calls are just another way to protect the quarterback.

The problem is it has become an arbitrary call. Some officials call

It's called sleep, bro. Lol.

The problem with people like you and the other whiners is you can't deal with truth. That is all I do here (there's a few of us still out there). And because it doesn't co-sign your whine, y'all get mad that everyone just doesn't go along with what's favorable to you and the team, by hook or crook if need be. I mean among the hundreds of "Micah gets held all the time" claims, we have 1 video, and it's not even Micah. 1. I haven't seen another this season so far. And to top it off, it comes on the heels of a blatant lie by the OP. Do you not think that has bearing on marring the case for CONSPIRACY! many of you like to push? But no one cares about that, you just want your way. Well, truth is truth. Don't whine when it gets presented to you. I don't. I disagreed with the butt fumble overturn and acknowledge the refs missed that hold in the video shown in here. But 1 in 100s of whines and in the face of lies does not an anti-Cowboys movement make.

25 years posting with my fellow Cowboys fans. I have never complained or cried about officials. I did not lie and you are really close to being a complete jerk for claiming I lied. We can go down this road if you want.

Just watched my video. Fields dropped back moves a bit towards the near sideline hashes and quickly releases to the right. Don't know if they're assuming Parsons wouldn't have gotten there in time or what but I don't think he would have with a clean block or the TE just got in his way. Running free he would threaten. But is it away from the point of attack and not within close-line play? That's the rule and it does fit that description.

and parson yelling for a holding call. ughh:facepalm::angry::thumbdown:

Defenders yell all the time. Doesn't make it so. Lawrence loved to whine about being held and to the press to boot. Don't know that I ever saw a clear video of one against him like is in this thread. It's the nature of the position. Like every receiver is interfered with.

I just think that gets called more times than it does not. I am far from one to whine about officials or go as far as some of the wackadoodles about conspiracies but IMO the officials did not do a good job yesterday and missed some clear holds on the Bears.

I also think, by the letter of the rule, that fumble should not have been overturned. The rule is inconclusive and there was nothing inconclusive about him retaining possession. In other words, if they had called him down on the field, there certainly wasn't enough to overturn and rule it a fumble.
