Chopping block

If the Cowboys eat 1/2 of Jaylon’s $7.8M contract this year, he is tradeable. He is a name. He gives some fans hope and sells tickets.

I think you need 4-5 solid CBs in the NFL. I mean guys that could actually start. Brown makes that cut. Plus Dallas has a lot of young guys in the secondary. That veteran leadership is key.
ok, Hope he catches well.

Smart teams don’t pay that price for “depth”.
No, but they can't just cut him now and make the financial commitment disappear. They have already committed money and they would take a big cap hit to cut Smith now, so why not at least get the benefit of him as depth this year? I think there is a more reasonably priced out next year, although there would still be a cap hit.

There isn’t a team in the league crazy enough to trade for Jaylon with that contract. And Anthony Brown would not get anything in a trade either.
Cut both. Hope they get picked up for comp picks.

Completely agree. Dallas isn’t a team that can afford to give up a solid corner like Brown.

Jaylon? We’d be fine without.
I agree. Every player can't be a star, but Brown is at least a reasonable player and experienced veteran at a position with a lot of question marks.

I like the taste of broccoli, in general, and it definitely tastes better than Brussel sprouts. Cabbage is also very good. None are the main ingredient but are vital as a supporting cast and provide great nutrition. I do not recommend a diet low in fiber. One will pay dearly.
:lmao2:

Serious consideration on these two. it's time.

Trade if anyone is crazy enough to apply.

Time to make room.

Not happening.

They don't. Smart teams also don't hand out those contracts to those type of players to begin with....but I don't recall anyone confusing the Cowboys with a smartly ran team......

At the end of the day you let these guys go i'd hope you'd replace them with the money you save by letting them go....if you let Jaylon go he's probably the best linebacker available even with his flaws. It just makes no sense. Fans treat the Cowboys like trading cards. You hate the bad cards so you don't even claim them. When you talk trash to opposing teams you like to have the Taco Charlton's, Jaylon Smith's, Mo Claiborne's off your team so you can talk smack. Not you specifically just the general fan.

Oh yeah. That's why I initially said not to get his hopes up. Guaranteed money and blown cap costs will save Smith for this year.

You can’t cut Jaylon now unless you want to have nearly $10 million in dead cap space eaten up. His contract gives us an out in 2022. He’ll probably be a post June 1 cut next spring.
I'm pretty sure he would have to be released around a few days after the league year opens in early March or else his salary is guaranteed like what happened this season.
