Chopping block

I don't get the idea behind cutting Jaylon. We would take a big cap hit by cutting him, and even if he isn't the player we thought he would be, he is still good enough to be on the roster.

It can be a delicate balance with regards to locker-room issues when a big stature player like Jaylon gets benched or moved to a significantly reduced role.

Jimmy, Parcells, etc. didn't like to have those big stature players around unless those players totally bought into the new coaches message.

Jimmy didn't want to keep big name Landry era players (Irvin didn't count because he was a Jimmy disciple from college).

Parcells didn't want Emmitt on the team and he deliberated put Larry Allen on did not pass conditioning run just to make certain the locker-room knew who was in charge.

With the Dolphins, Jimmy somewhat checked out and just bided his time until his contract was up once the owner blocked him from dumping Marino.

It's funny how Brown has been the starter since training camp, is listed as the starter on the depth chart. But everyone believes he will be cut.

Brown has the versatility to play outside or the slot. At the very least he would be great insurance against injury to the position.

Like I said before, think like the team and not like a fan.

yup.

brown, Diggs, and Lewis are the top three.

the others are fighting for CB 4-5.

imho, that 2nd round pick should have been spent on a RT.

the #JaylonHate is agenda driven.

he makes a ton of tackles for the team.

Brown isn't going anywhere nor should he.

The rookies are going to have their hands full at least to begin with.

agree.

Money plays in the NFL.

Brown and Lewis are being paid $$$ millions this season.

Brown isn't amazing by any means but he is a guy who can play, can play multiple positions, and may be a starter on this team. He's already under contract, why get rid of him? It's not like we have so much talent there that he may push out some young guy with amazing promise.

Smith...he's here this year. No way around it. No one is going to trade for him. He'll be gone after this season.

AB is one of our fastest corners.

4.3 combo.

he’s the reason Chido lost his job.

The #9 and #6 together on the field drives me crazy when studying the game footage. I don't normally have dyslexia but that combination seems to cause induced dyslexia for me.
Me too. Optical cognitive dissonance.

It’s personal for you guys. At the end of the day if these are your depth guys you’re doing ok. I never get why fans would destroy depth in favor of a 6th or 7th rounder. This team isn’t deep enough to be letting guys go.
Because WAY too many on here think with their azz instead of their brain.

Exactly

He does, but I do think too many are 4-7 yards downfield that the opponent benefits from and not enough are stuffing the run for little or no gain. I think he gets pushed around by blockers in congested areas, which is why I think he should be limited to being an OLB where he has more freedom to run and pursue.

Both will be listed as starters tho Jaylon will only start in 4-3 sets which means basically never.

AB is actually starting as Joseph just isn't ready yet.

But next year both are likely gone.

he’s top 5 in NFL tackles the last 3 seasons.

If the Cowboys eat 1/2 of Jaylon’s $7.8M contract this year, he is tradeable. He is a name. He gives some fans hope and sells tickets.
you said it. he gives fans hope...but GMs and coaches know he is useless, too bad fans don't make the trades and GMs do....he is worthless and cutting him would be a plus to us and a negative to whomever picks him up
