Chopping block

I think theres a very good chance that Smith, Lawrence, LVE, Brown and Lewis aren't here in 2022.

In every one of those cases, we are either stuck with or need them for 2021.

Let's discuss this after we watch Joseph and Wright vs Brady.

We need the vet CBs early on....and for depth later.

If we were a rebuilding team hoping for six wins, I'd completely agree with your point.
This team is 9-8 and out this year. Let em play.

They need to play Smith in limited situations this year where he can have some semblance of success in order to improve his stock for next year if they want to try an get any asset for him.

Brown is not great, but we need a vet to intermingle with the rooks at least for the first part of the season. That why I wanted to bring in Sherman.

Serious consideration on these two. it's time.

Trade if anyone is crazy enough to apply.

Time to make room.
I'd keep brown for depth. Just wouldn't start him. You need a lot of CB's. Nickle, dime packages. He's got valuable experience. Not smart enough to know what to do with Smith what with his contract and whether or not he could be effective in certain situations.

I don't think brown is on the chopping block....he is not great, but he is not bad...he is what he is, but he can be a trade bait for a conditional low round pick.

no one will trade for jaylon given his contract. he is not a starter but makes high starter salary. , so cutting him actually will be saving the team money, adding a younger player with some upside that can minimally contribute on special teams...
Brown gets way too much hate. Guy was a 6th rounder. Absolute steal. He has played way better than people say he has. Plus he has some dawg in him. This team needs that.

you just cant keep people like that around. Just because he was good for a 6th rounder is the mentality base that has us 25years and the dog.

BTW i agree with you. Its just time to find better.

They might need Jaylon if there’s an injury. Also, he probably lands on another roster next year so it could be a 5 or 6 round company pick.
Um... That isn't how that works.

There are TWO ways that Jaylon is on another team next year.
One is that we trade him and it is already pretty clearly established that his contract prevents a trade.
The other is that we cut him. Players that are cut do not generate comp picks.

How do you cut a veteran CB with all these young guys? Plus he is cheap. I don’t see it.
I get it but ,someone at some point has to do better. If Brady throws the winning TD on Brown and Dallas comes away with an (L) do you say well, its ok Brown was a 6th round pick and we don't have a lot of cap spent. Or, do you play the young guys that have potential.

This team can't admit it but, until they have two stud defensive tackles its going to be and early exit to the tournaments.

It’s personal for you guys. At the end of the day if these are your depth guys you’re doing ok. I never get why fans would destroy depth in favor of a 6th or 7th rounder. This team isn’t deep enough to be letting guys go.

Smart teams don’t pay that price for “depth”.

Brown isn't amazing by any means but he is a guy who can play, can play multiple positions, and may be a starter on this team. He's already under contract, why get rid of him? It's not like we have so much talent there that he may push out some young guy with amazing promise.

Smith...he's here this year. No way around it. No one is going to trade for him. He'll be gone after this season.

Completely agree. Dallas isn’t a team that can afford to give up a solid corner like Brown.

Jaylon? We’d be fine without.

I don't get the idea behind cutting Jaylon. We would take a big cap hit by cutting him, and even if he isn't the player we thought he would be, he is still good enough to be on the roster.
...mob mentallity prevalent in this age.....football snd many other things...

When guys like urban, Bohanna and Gallimore are second wave I'll put my spurs on. The Offense if the line holds up is more than good enough.

I think you need 4-5 solid CBs in the NFL. I mean guys that could actually start. Brown makes that cut. Plus Dallas has a lot of young guys in the secondary. That veteran leadership is key.

Jaylon and Brown are not getting cut.
Imagine the final 53 roster thread as they are still around.

I guess Brown could be a surprise, but I doubt it as of right now. I think Goodwin is released before Brown, if someone steps in to take Goodwin's ST's snaps. Which looks to be Canady.

Who's to say Brown's going to start against the Bucs?
