Chopping block

you said it. he gives fans hope...but GMs and coaches know he is useless, too bad fans don't make the trades and GMs do....he is worthless and cutting him would be a plus to us and a negative to whomever picks him up

he’s led the Cowboys in tackles for two seasons.

pro bowl,

top 5 in the NFL in tackles.

how useless is that?

I don't get the idea behind cutting Jaylon. We would take a big cap hit by cutting him, and even if he isn't the player we thought he would be, he is still good enough to be on the roster.

I don’t think so. I think he's a cripple who will only hurt this team when he's on the field.

I don't understand the rationale behind the Smith vitriol. If he is a terrible player and leads the team in tackles; surely everyone else must be straight trash. I don't care about his antics, his gait, his technique; no one on the defense matches his production. The past two seasons, he has lead the team in tackles.

last year useless. liability in coverage. many tackles were 5+ yards down field. leading in tackles onto itself is meaningless, you have to look at the whole picture.

I don't hate Jaylon...I just don't think he is a good LB any longer. limited and obviously still struggling with his drop foot that physically limits him. not worth the money he is paid as money can be used for more effective players or resign our own.

There isn’t a team in the league crazy enough to trade for Jaylon with that contract. And Anthony Brown would not get anything in a trade either.
AB is probably starting vs the GOAT week 1 on thursday night, no way he should even be included in the conversation.

It's funny how Brown has been the starter since training camp, is listed as the starter on the depth chart. But everyone believes he will be cut.

Brown has the versatility to play outside or the slot. At the very least he would be great insurance against injury to the position.

Like I said before, think like the team and not like a fan.

I think Brown has had his best camp that I can recall, I think past seasons he caught justified criticism. At least thus far he has stepped up his game in my view. Holding down the position will not be an easy task as younger players continue to learn and develop. One thing I have always seen from some members is once a player is in their dog house they will not allow that player out.

Exactly.

He's serviceable and while he's no superstar, I don't think he's as bad as a lot of folks think. Just my opinion.

no one else on the team is even close to his production.

Tackles are a measurable defensive stat.

and he makes a ton of them.

why isnt anyone else making tackles like Jaylon?

He does, but I do think too many are 4-7 yards downfield that the opponent benefits from and not enough are stuffing the run for little or no gain. I think he gets pushed around by blockers in congested areas, which is why I think he should be limited to being an OLB where he has more freedom to run and pursue.

Better watch out with spreading this facts! They’ll come for you!

Only if he's taking an important roster spot. If there is a different position in desperate need...then I cut him. Brown would not be the "progress stopper", Jaylon would.

I'm not convinced that is the case or the need. But it is a pretty terrible situation....that much money is a "depth player". Dayum.

That is correct.

Last year we were STRAIGHT up TRASH! Some said the worst in Dallas history. In at least some ways indeed.

I've shown it before, Smith jumping up to block a pass. he would NOT come down on that foot. If that doesn't raise an alarm to you...you have some other agenda, purposely ignoring the liability.

It's as you said.....trash! Only 500 yards from the worst. But hey thank GOD for all those 6-7 yard tackles! Our savior.

And wait and see what’s being said about Anthony Brown after that game against the GOAT. I have every confidence that Brown will be target #1 for the Bucs’ passing attack.

Maybe because he’s the weakest link, and therefore the top target of opponents attacks? He’s ‘tackling’ people because they’re attacking his area of the field. Because everyone sees his limitations and looks to exploit them.

That’s the biggest issue. And the one the Super Fans want to try to ignore.

Your 4th or 5th best linebacker is costing you $10 million this year.

That’s indefensible.
