Unfortunately, Collinsworth doesn't have a say in the matter...

Brian Baldinger called our coaching staff "very Poor" in august.

he then preceded to call atlantas outstanding. I posted that here in august and everyone laughed at me.

To be fair though, for some reason which I dont get he still picked dallas to win the superbowl!!!

Cris along with tons and tons of other people. The problem is that only one person matters in that decision and he's made it clear that a coaching change isn't what is needed.

Herd mentality.

Chris should worry about saving his own neck

And Jerry digs in further. :banghead:

you almost have to wonder if the only reason Jones is keeping Wade is so if by some miracle we do make the playoffs and advance next yr, he can say to the media "see, I told you so!!!!"..."I was right about Wade!!!!"

I never thought Wade would be fired anyway for the very reason Jerry suggested.

Making changes every two years leads to failure and constant rebuilding. I could see a change or two being made to the staff, tho.

There are exception though, and Jones himself later admitted that he should have run Barry after that super bowl win, in spite of how much he loved the guy. He said he could see the teams focus and attention to detail slipping away, that discipline was bad etc etc.

The same thing applies today. There's no question this team regressed. Keeping inferior coaches too long does not increase the odds of becoming a better team.

One of the problems with keeping Wade is...

he couldnt even right the ship this year.

What makes anyone think he can next year.
Unless this team wins in spite of Wade... expect another heartbreak next season

Unfortunately, Jerry probably needs another season to determine if the coach-in-waiting is really head coach material.

The problem for Jerry is that you've recently had both types of coaches, the cupcake and the hard nosed, and it hasn't worked no matter which type.

So where do you go from here? Try the hard nosed again and hope that it works out better? I've made it clear I'd be a huge fan of having Cowher here but even I'm not sold that it would totally change the issues here.

Bill Cowher rests squarely between both. Go get him Jerry! He can be a player's friend when needed but will also spit in your face if you screw up. Make it hapn Jerry!
