I wouldn't be surprised, American Idol does that kind of stuff. They tell the judges to say that such and such was awesome (a.k.a. Mandisa), while such and such were horrible (a.k.a. that 16-year old that is not Paris "Pugface" Bennett), when they were nothing of the sort.
that 16-year-old was getting every type of praise that they could throw out, and while her singing didn't exactly take a nosedive, the judges suddenly switched tracks and said she was horrible.
Mandisa, on the other hand, didn't sing well (IMO anyway), yet the judges said everything possible to please her (Church of Mandisa reference). The thing that makes me wonder is...Are the judges (Simon mostly) doing this because they feel bad for what they said about her being overweight?
IIRC, the same thing happened to Clay Aiken, ppl voted for him, and for some reason, Studdard got the votes. Is it planned, or by mistake?
