ESPN said he left Atlanta with no contract and would make a decision next week.
In other words no one is giving him the money he wants and thinks he deserves.

at this time no visits are scheduled. On film Long wears down badly toward end of year. Is this type of player you want heading into playoffs? I say pass.

Which may bode well for us. He will have time over the weekend to ponder his situation and approach Monday on a more realistic level.
Jeremy Mincey has more sacks than Chris Long over the last two years. That includes Jeremy's goose egg for this season.
Let that stink in for a moment.
Mincey has played in 30 games those two years; Long 18.
So, he not only tallied 4 sacks in 18 games while playing on a line with Robert Quinn, Aaron Donald, and Michael Brockers, he's also injury prone.
I feel much better now.
Mincey had two more sacks in nearly twice as many games played. If anything it makes Mincey look a little worse.

Broaddus does not even know what is happening in the very building he works in every day, let alone what is going on in Atlanta.
Long has already confirmed in an interview today that he is taking his time, enjoyed visiting Atlanta and Washington, but will be visiting elsewhere.
That's the extent of it.
Free agent Chris Long has informed the Cowboys that he wants to visit and is expected to do so next week, a source said.
No firm date has been set, but the Cowboys have a definite interest in the defensive end.
Long has played in only 18 games the past two seasons and recorded four sacks. But in the 2010-13 seasons, he was one of the more productive players in the league with 41.5 sacks in that span.
Long was the second player taken in the '08 draft by the St. Louis Rams. He turns 31 in March.
