Says his people in his camp, they said that he would be interested in going to New York, Orlando, Portland, or Los Angeles(Lakers). Theres no way we could puck up Paul with Steve Blake and Fish signed, but a boy could dream. If he goes to portland though. They become an automatic contender in the west.

He wasn't kidding when he said he and Melo should hook up in New York.

NY sure would gain a lot of fans if that happened. Especially with the new 3-some in Miami.

The Knicks have nothing to offer

The Lakers? Bynum and cash, not enough

Blazers? Some 3 teamer where they give up Andre Miller, Bayless, Batum, Fernandez and cash. Thats pretty close.

The Nets could give Harris, TWill, Favors, 3 1sts (One of which is the Warriors) for Paul and West.

The Magic have a lot of talent to get it done but their picks suck and cant absorb a bad contract.

Mavericks have to get him or their hopes of winning a title are crushed in the Dirk era.

Supposedly they've made multiple plays at trying to pry him away over the offseason, but the Hornets are not interested in parting with him.

If the Mavs can use Damp to take on Okafors terrible contract they may have a shot.

Roddy B., Kidd, like Butler, picks, and $6M for Paul and Okafor broken down into 2 deals is solid

Edit: I forgot they used Damps contract already. Yea, they got nothing

They still got expiring contracts.

Chandler and Caron will expire next year. And we have a 6 million trade exception too.

The Magic could trade Vince Carter and Jameer Nelson for Paul and Okafor. The dollars match almost exactly and the Hornets get back Jameer who can instantly jump in the line-up at point-gaurd.

Orlando just resigned JJ Redick to replace Vince Carter in the starting line-up next season, so they wouldn't care if Carter left a year early.

If that happened, the Magic would put Gortat on the market pretty quick.

Chris Paul can want all he wants to, but the bottomline is there is no way the Hornets are going to trade him until after they get the franchise sold (if at all). You don't give away your most marketable asset when you're trying to sell off a company.

I don't know if I 100% agree with that. It's easy to forget how good Kidd was down the stretch last season. They'd have to pick up Okefor and probably Posey in any deal which would basically mean they can't make any changes until the post Dirk era.

Chandler/Beaubois/Butler/Barea/Stevenson(?)+draft picks for Paul/Okefor/Posey

Paul/Kidd
Kidd/D. Jones/Jet (hopefully as little as possible)
Marion/Posey
Dirk/Okefor
Haywood/Okefor/Mahini/Ajinca

You would have to be 100% convinced that this was a team that would make it to the finals.

That's not necessarily true. Paul has much less value if there's no chance of his re-signing. If you can get back a bunch of contracts that expire at the end of the season, plus some good draft picks, you can be in just as good if not a better position.

Is Dallas a championship team today? Absolutely not.

They still don't have a slasher who can get to the basket and they still don't have someone who can score in the paint.

Dallas can't get easy baskets and it gets them in the playoffs every year.

Paul WOULD put us in the Finals conversations again and @ 25 gives us a much much brighter future regardless if we win it or not.

I hope the Hornets dont give in. Every superstar is just going to ***** and whine till they get what they want. The NBA is turning into an AAU league.

The Lakers covet Paul.

The way this trade breaks down is:

Lakers get - Chris Paul

Hornets get - Odom, Vujacic, Blake and Ebanks.

The cap works and the contracts are friendly enough for the Hornets to work with if they decide to go another direction.

This could happen.

Well the Lakers did get Gasol for about the same tradeoff so anything is possible but if the trade Paul for Odom + scrubs then the NBA really is fixed.

Its only slightlier more entertaining than Paul for Butler + Beaubois.

The flexibility of contracts are what is driving this deal. Also, the fact that the Hornets would receive 3 Starting Quality players and one highly thought of developmental player in return.

According to reports, Paul will not play another game in a Hornets uniform.
