Blake starts on very bad teams when people get hurt. He can shoot the three but his defense is putrid and he does not run the pick and roll well at all because he cannot penetrate. You just hedge a bit with the big and go over the screen. Hes injury prone. Sure he started for Portland but they replaced him with Andre 'Spare' Miller and he only started in Washington because Arenas is a walking MASH unit.

I sort of agree. I do think Blake really isn't a conventional starter at PG....

But he could start for the Lakers in their offensive sets.

Re-read what I wrote. "That's IF they look to move him." Not that hard of a concept, really.

It is actually because it makes zero sense and not happening.

Yeah.

And the deal I was responding to included picks, Favors, and Williams.

Favors (especially) and Williams would fall under the "young and upcoming players." Cap relief would come in the form of NJ having to absorb Okafor's contract.

Vuj was constantly in Jackson's doghouse for very good reason. He has started 12 games in 6 years. He is not a starter.

They were going to start him before Fisher resigned because they had not other choice. Fisher is back.

Odom is the definition of inconsistent. Your trade proposal makes as much sense as Marc Gasol and a first for Pau so maybe West and Stern can serve that one up for you guys too.

He plays the same position as Kobe. Come on now.

And since it's a pissing contest, let me just help you out. This is not my trade proposal. This was reported as a trade proposal between the Hornets and the Lakers. Maybe you can track down the guy who reported it and cry in his ear.

Pissing contest means that I am trying to one up you in some way. I am not.

Vujacic has shown nothing to indicate he can start in this league. He was worse than awful last year.

As for the trade proposal not being your idea: you still regurgitated it as if it had some merit. Its basically take all the trash that LA can dispense with and Odom and say its a good trade.

Any deal with NJ would have to include Lopez. Lopez is an up and coming player. TWill is a prospect sure but he did not play well last year.

Exactly. I think just about any team (Excluding the Jazz, Bulls, and Suns) could and would destroy that deal.

In all honesty, Portland has the best ammo to make a trade for Paul and the Hornet's actually considered proposals from them earlier this offseason.

Trade:
Paul and Okafor to Portland for Greg Oden, Rudy Fernandez, Nicolas Batum, Andre Miller, the rights to Joel Freeland and a future first rounder.

Hornets Starting five:
1. Darren Collison/Andre Miller
2. Rudy Fernandez
3. Nicolas Batum/Quincy Pondexter
4. West, Craig Brackins
5. Greg Oden

Portlands Starting Five:
1. Chris Paul
2. Brandon Roy
3 Wesley Matthews/Luke Babbitt
4. LaMarcus Aldridge
5. Marcus Camby/Joel Przybilla/Emeka Okafor.

That is a lot to give up from Portland's perspective, but it would give them a team that could challenge the Lakers in the West this season. The Hornets lose their star player, but they can go forward with a young and talented roster that could actually produce a better record than the previous season. They also get Okafor's bad contract off their books.

If that happened, I wouldn't be surprised if the Hornets don't try to shop West (who will probably get pretty disgruntled when Paul leaves).

Then you can pretty much forget about getting him. Paul is a better player than Lopez and you have to give something to get something.

Oden is damaged goods. He shows every sign of having a degenerative knee condition. I would not touch him with a ten foot pole.

Oden is in the last season of his contract. If he can come back from his microfracture surgery then they will have a good center. If not, then they will be free of his contract after the season unlike what they currently have with Okafor (whom the hornets currently wish they had not touched with that same pole).

He has had a knee injury 3 years running. He is toast and again they are not going to give Paul away for cap space.

They would be giving away Okafor for Cap space.

Theres a deal there somewhere w/o giving up Lopez

True.

The owner has one foot out the door, cutting salary is a must for them.

Theyd prefer a deal where they lose that salary and get a nice collection of young players and picks to a deal where they dont lose Okafor and get better young talent and picks

Im a little scared. Im assuming the assets wed have to give up would be something like Devin Harris, TWill, 3 or 4 picks(the Nets have a ton of picks), cash and maybe Derick Favors. Its my hope that if we do include Favors we dont have to take back Emeka. Or we can take back Emeka as long as we dont have to trade Favors

Ken Berger, who broke the story of Chris Paul's unhappiness with the Hornets, now reports New Orleans has been in talks with the Nets and Bobcats and those talks are "expected to advance in the coming days." Berger gave no details on who or what the Nets might offer.

Berger quotes anonymous sources as "confirming prior discussions" and that Paul's representatives "are continuing to push Paul's exit strategy from New Orleans--something members of the organization are well aware of and expected."

The Nets and Hornets reportedly talked about Paul in mid-June. Paul said following a meeting Monday with new GM Dell Demps and new coach Monty Williams that he hopes to continue "representing New Orleans and Louisiana".

Ya because new Jersey is leaps and bounds better than New Orleans:rolleyes:

Your talking about giving up Harris AND Favors, what the hell does that leave you with?

I'm sure Chris would be thrilled with that.

I dont think they would give up Favors if they had to take back Emeka. So that would leave them w/ some room to go after Melo next year.

So w/ Emeka

Chris Paul/ Jordan Farmar/Uzoh
Courtney Lee/ Morrow(All time 3pt% leader)/Ross
Travis Outlaw/Damion James
Emeka/ Favors/Humprhies
Lopez/Petro/Zoubek

Without Emeka

Chris Paul/ Jordan Farmar/Uzoh
Courtney Lee/ Morrow(All time 3pt% leader)/Ross
Travis Outlaw/Damion James
? / Humprhies
Lopez/Petro/Zoubek

Still a lot of picks and cap room to grow/ The core is all under 25. But the real selling point would be the sick *** owner. In the NBA owners like Cuban and Paul Allen are such an advantage since they spend on picks and to facilitate trades.

I dont know how that roster is any better than New Orleans. And they won't sign Melo. They just signed Outlaw to 35 million and they play the same position. Outlaw cant play the 2.

And you better believe New Orleans will want Harris and Favors. They wont get Jerseys picks till like 2014.
