I dont know how that roster is any better than New Orleans. And they won't sign Melo. They just signed Outlaw to 35 million and they play the same position. Outlaw cant play the 2.

And you better believe New Orleans will want Harris and Favors. They wont get Jerseys picks till like 2014.

Dont get it? The Nets have like 10 picks in the next 3 years. Including the Warriors 1st thats only 1-7 protected

As for the roster, well it has some shooters, defenders, athletes and an All-NBA center. Its not amazing but it has potential. Its not really up to Paul though.
The Hornets, meanwhile, have been looking at Orlando, Charlotte and New Jersey as potentially attractive trade partners once the firestorm settles down
Outlaws best position is actually the 4. So if we did sign Melo(I have it at 0% now, maybe 33% if we had Paul) he could be a nice 6th man.

Yea, teams go small, where have you been? He played his best at 4. Thatd be a nice role off the bench.

Some reports that I read that should be of interest to this thread:

#1, The statement by the Hornets that they have worked things out with Paul and that he will remain a Hornet.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=5411166

#2, One of several articles pointing out that the Hornets had to publicly say this, but Paul still wants out and the Hornets are going to listen to offers.

Reasons they needed to say Paul were off the market: better leverage in trades and the fact that Paul would be fined if he had publicly stated his desire for a trade.

http://www.cbssports.com/nba/story/13671341/after-hornets-meeting-paul-still-seeking-way-out

The article mentions the Hornets would prefer that he be dealt to the Eastern Conference and that they believe the Knicks, Magic, Bobcats and Nets all have the assets to make a deal:

There are indications that the Hornets believe the Magic, Bobcats and Nets would have equally, if not more attractive assets to offer. The positive spin emanating from Monday's meeting allows the Hornets to "keep working on it," and puts them in "a better negotiating position to do so," said one of the sources.

I personally don't think they will end up moving him until mid-season, but I figured this would help MB4th keep his dream alive.

Its not a dream if the deal sucks. If you take on a ton of their bad deals and/or give up too much young talent then your just Hornets East.

Like I said, theres a deal in there somewhere. Obviously no Brook Lopez. But they can grab a few of the others.

The fact that they are into Charlotte should be a clue. They have no young sexy talent. But they do have Damps non guaranteed expiring. So they can make 2 separate deals. Sending Cha bad deals

Picks Augistin, Diaw(exp) and Gerald Henderson for CP3

Then Emeka and Julian Wright for Damp.

Saves them like $15M this year

As for Favors, apparently were not dealing him either. Hes "Scary good". So we are out

I think Orlando is going to make a big move on CP3.
