The draft is less than a month away. Like many of you I've been doing my research as a couch scout and going back to do my own homework instead of listening to others.

Am I wrong to say, Hackenberg is impressive? Yes, I've seen the bad and my, it was bad but... this guy had a really bad line. We saw what a bad line can do to a QB first hand. When you give Hackenberg another few seconds he makes all the throws and even scramble for some. The most impressive skill set with him compared to any of the other QBs and yes that includes Wentz and Goff is his IQ and confidence and command at reading the defense at the college level. You just don't see that from a lot of college QBs & he has the skill set to back it up.

Now, I understand the pecking order in this year's QB Ranking. But after Lynch I would honestly take a chance on him before any of the 2nd tier QBs. You let him sit and learn from Romo and get his confidence back and he really could be this year's version of Aaron Rodgers. Only time can tell but the more I watch the more he gets interesting.

He had a bad line but apparently refuses to accept any blame for his lack of pocket awareness. In other words, he is partially to blame. He is not the first major college QB to have a substandard line.

He's a whiner and a crybaby and turned some teams off in interviews when he took little responsibility for his lack of development after his frosh year, instead blaming Franklin for screwing him up.

Seems skittish to me. I think that is on him, not his OL

He reminds me a lot of Romo in his interviews for some reason. They even kinda look alike.

I would not consider a QB after the top 3 guys. Waste of a draft pick.

Here's the scary part for those looking at Wentz or Goff at #4. There are several guys with potential who could be taken lower in the draft and who wouldn't mind sitting behind Romo a few years because of where they were drafted and/or what they need from a club.

I think Hackenberg, Prescott, Driskell and some of the other quarterbacks know they need development and would be less likely to "buck" against being a backup for a few years.

I can really see the Cowboys passing on a top quarterback in the first round (unless Lynch somehow drops and the Cowboys feel compelled to jump back into the first round to get him), taking either Elliott/Bosa/Ramsey and picking a development quarterback in the fourth round. This sounds like what Jerry would do.

The bold part is false. He's admitted publicly and privately that he needs to improve there.

In fact, it seems that may be one of those "leaks" teams send out to drop a guy they like's stock.

His lack of pocket presence is disturbing, almost complete opposite from Romo. Not sure how he would be a a good fit here.

The name people keep leaving out of the mix is Jacoby Brissett. He has all the tools as well, inexperience, a horrid line and receiver corp in college has to be factored in when grading him as well. Personally I believe Bissett, Hackenburg, or Presscott will be our selection at QB.

He's visiting this week, so they must be somewhat intrigued.

I think the reason to not consider a Bissett, Hackenburg or Prescott is because there will be those kind of guys in the draft every year in the second or 3rd rounds. If you are going to address QB, go balls out in my opinion. Get one of the big three, whichever you think projects best for you.

I think if you go with one of the big three, they are your gameday backup. I would take my chances with one of those guys being able to run a conservative offense with our run game and OL....think along the lines of what we asked Quincy to do back in the day with Parcells.

Why does Hackenberg get a pass for his line when Goff had to deal with a woeful unit himself? He didn't curl into the fetal position and blame his coaches. He just performed. Not to mention in the NFL you will get pressured a lot regardless of how good your OL is. Pass.

Probably because Hackenberg is a much cooler QB name than Goff. Hackenberg just sounds Quarterbacky, like his folks would shun him completely if he had been cut from the Junior Varsity squad. Goff is plain and doesn't even have an "s" at the end to jazz it up.

That's a terrible way to build talent. Respect your posts, etc. but would not go that route at all. Settling for lesser talent bc they would be placated by draft position. I hear your point, but take the top rated prospect and let them sulk if it comes to it; Romo being the starter or healthy 100% throughout the year
