Christina Aguilera - Haiti Telethon

Did anyone watch the Hope for Haiti telethon last night? There were so many great performers, it was like American Idol All Stars out there. Amazing act after acts like Stevie Wonder, Timberlake, The Boss, Sting, Shakira, JHudson, JayZ, Alicia Keys etc. But, the one that stuck with me was Christina Aguilera debuting a song from her upcoming album Bionic called "lift me up"

What a magnificent performance. To me, she has always been overshadowed by Britney Spears that people tend to forget shes got powerful pipes. It had me near tears.

She also looked the best I have seen her look. I love her new hair cut.

Justin Timberlake has always been talented. His solo stuff is very Michael Jackson/Stevie Wonder/Prince-esque.

Christina Aguilera? I'd give her the business.

But yeah, comparing her to Britney regarding signing is like comparing Jason Campbell to Tony Romo playing quarterback.

I watched a good chunk of the telethon and agree that Aguilera was at her best. She truly has re-invented herself. Justin Timberlake and Matt Morris's cover of the Leonard Cohen song was as good as I've ever heard it. That particular piece can be sung with instruments or Acapella. It's the kind of song that should be used as an audition piece for American Idol. It tkes a good voice to sing it well.
