Yeah I didn't like the way he was fooling around with his old team. I think I saw a Seahawk tell him to get away during the injury time out where Lockett got hurt as if they were tired of him.

His running style is OK. I think he would do great things with this team.

It's his mind that bothers me. He has to get past that self-centeredness.

It did look like he was running right over to his coach when he came off the field for tips and encouragement.
It was a unique situation though considering who we were playing. He lost himself emotionally against a team that traded him.

A lot of people guessed that he wasn't smart enough to learn the playbook. What I have been seeing is a ton of physical ability but a ton of little lapses. Not necessarily mental mistakes but things that drive coaches crazy.

The Sammy Sosa stuff before every play is one thing. The over excitement after a nice run when losing is another. He just seems too lost in his personal battle and not the team's situation. Which can be hard if you really believe that you could help the team the most if you were the starter.

I didn't like the hip bump after that drop and I didn't like the fraternizing(and that goes for all of them).

Something just seems OFF with him, which is shame because as we saw on that run that was called back, he has the power to run through Earl Thomas and the speed to get down the sideline. I do think he needs to have a larger share of the carries. McFadden can't be counted on week to week.

he doesn't look bright. I notice him more for the facial expressions he makes rather than his plays. Not a horrible back but certainly not a starter. Dallas will need to hit the redo button after season at this position and just keep McFadden who signed favorable 2 year deal. I am also moving on from Dunbar. Nice in space but can't stay on field over his career.

They trusted the Rookie Rod Smith to be in on passing downs when McFadden was out instead of C-Mike. Rod Smith has 2 career carries (none with the Cowboys) and zero pass receptions yet they appear to trust him more than C-Mike.

They need to give him the Private Pyle "blanket party" treatment from Full Metal Jacket.

So your saying that they don't trust Michael to be in the game on passing downs?
Maybe explain why he was in on passing downs for several plays during the game then.
I saw Rod Smith play 1 play. However if its true that they don't trust Michael on passing downs then why was Michael in on several passing downs?

I love a good bashing of folks, but, listen. Some guys take longer to learn the playbook. Michael is clearly one of those guys. Look at our very own Bruce Carter, who has traditionally been terrible in his first year+ of learning a new system, only to look Pro-Bowl caliber after his long learning curve is complete (he is currently looking like a bust in Tampa by the way).

All I am saying is to give the dude an off-season and training camp before writing him off. He is already here, so why the heck not?

He acts too excited to be on the field, like he just won the lottery on one of those fake scratch-off tickets.

Rod Smith was in on pass protection and Michael was on the bench. They do not trust Michael at all to pass protect and that's most likely the main reason he gets so few snaps a week. He must improve cause defenses are noticing it and they play the run when he is in

Actually the play I saw him in he was out on a route, not pass protecting. He was going to be the recipient of a pass that was batted down at the line of scrimmage. Having said that, you may be right about them trusting Smith more on pass protection, just not a huge sample size to really get any idea.

I actually think we are getting exactly what we should have expected. He was available for a reason which is his lack of polish on the little things. It's up to our coaches to do something that Seattle could not and work him through it. With that said, he has a ton of raw talent so the upside is worth it.

I do agree with one of the posters on here. He seems to hesitate too much. He needs to pick and hole and go! I also remember that is why they said Seattle traded him. They run to small or non-existent holes which he really struggled with. He seems to like to pick a hole and run through it. In the NFL those holes close VERY quickly. Again it's up to our coaches to work him through it. The guy can be great if he can do so.

You guys dont waste any time turning on playes around here lol

It isn't turning on him. It is recognizing his weaknesses so he can work on them. He is just as good as Randle and McFadden, if he can get sustained carries he may be better.

But he keeps doing those little things wrong that get noticed by a structured guy like Garrett.
