Thor is hardly outdated compared to Wonder Woman. That name -- ugh -- and the outfit. She's more comparable to Captain America. And they only way they could make that work was to (a) make a movie about him in the 40s (his solo movie) or (b) constantly make fun of him being outdated in the 21st century (The Avengers).

I couldn't care less about a role model for young girls. I want a good film, not a Disney cartoon.

With Cap, his story started in the 40s. That's the comic history. Wonder Woman kind of has the same story when she leaves the island. She doesn't know of the outside world really. They can tweak the costume. There is one that looks more like a warrior outfit that could work. Just have the island similar to asgard. She gets her weapons and suit before leaving the island. It could work. Superman is very dated but that make that work. They removed the underwear for the new movie. I like the character and want her in the movie and she will be.

agreed. Spider Man 2 was the best of the franchise. And I think Robert Downey Jr. has nailed Tony Stark! It sucks they can't get Incredible Hulk right. **Hulk sad**. :(

And whats up with that? Why cant they get Hulk right?

Downey Jr. is awesome as Tony Stark.

Bringing Nolan and co. on board is the only way for anything like this to work for Warner Bros. Nolan's Batman films have grossed well over $2 billion worldwide and who knows how much more via home video.

And you can darn near take it to the bank that it's going to be a Batman/Superman film, not a full-blown JL movie. There's no way this Batman won't look silly in a live-action film punching aliens in the face, blasting off into space, and fighting alongside superpowered beings.

As far as Superman, Nolan co-wrote the story for MAN OF STEEL and is producing that film. It, like his Batman films, are going with the "realistic" tone. The premise is what if the human-looking alien that can fly and is almost invincible REALLY showed up in OUR world. I'm worried, but if anyone can make this particular Batman and Superman work on film it's Nolan, David Goyer, and Zack Snyder.

God no. Horrible casting. Wonder Woman has to look like an amazonian.

Someone like Lynn Collins if she was younger...

What's with this younger crap? Wonder Woman shouldn't be young. Should be played by an actress near or around 30.

Can't think of a movie in a long time that I have been this excited for. I really hope these aren't just amazing trailers. Maybe Superman will finally be done right.

Most of their stories started in the early 20th century. That's neither here nor there. Some characters were able to withstand the test of time. Some not.

Wonder Woman's name is ridiculous. Her outfit is ridiculous. Her powers are ridiculous. It's a terrible character.

Same here. But the almost daily trickle of reports from people who saw the recent screenings has been overwhelmingly positive. Couple that with the almost non-existent marketing of this movie so far signalling the studio's confidence, and I think it's going to be what we expect (although my expectations have gone sky-high, no pun intended).

The best part about opinions is that when the reader isn't informed, they can rely on a person's opinion. And when someone expresses an opinion like "I hated Batman Begins", you can appropriately disregard anything the person says after that.

so can a person have an opinon that disagrees with you and still be right? I say yes. BTW Batman Begins did suck, as did the rest. When you dont have talent as a director, or you know the movie sucks, generate as much talk as you can and let the distraction begin.

Yeah in some cases you can be. In this case you're completely wrong and it won't matter how many times you try and tell yourself you're right. You're still going to be wrong.

I was the one he was quoting there, yet I disagree with a bit of what you say. I certainly don't think TDK was a bad movie, though I definitely think it was carried by Ledger.

As for him being a bad Director? Memento and Inception were both good movies. Even the Prestige was a decent movie.

Sometimes good directors miss, sometimes bad directors hit. Given his track record so far I'd say it's hard to tell which is the case for him, but he is certainly capable of making a good movie.

HOw can opinions be wrong? Why can't opinions just be opinions.

Some people love the movie, some don't. I don't see how there is a wrong or right. Just agree to disagree. You didn't see me lay into Theo for disagreeing with me.

Think the best way to discuss it is to state why you feel the way you do, instead of telling someone else their wrong.

All his movies have been really good. The only one that I thought was just decent was Insomnia. Nolan is a great director as far as I'm concerned.

Is Chris Nolan the Tim Tebow/Danica Patrick of Hollywood?

Seems in that he is being put on the highest of pedestals while only making one universally acclaimed film in TDK? Overrated would be the term, I guess.

I'd disagree with that. Memento and Inception were both great movies. The Prestige was pretty good. The Batman trilogy, I thought, was solid.

He's on IMDB's top directors of the last 20 years.

He's grossed over $3.5 billion for Warner Brothers.

So, no, I don't think he's only made one universally acclaimed film nor is he overrated.
