The sixth overall pick of the 2012 draft said after he suffered the season-ending injury, he got all the way down to 150 pounds. He’s now up to 172 with hopes of reaching 180 by training camp.

That seems impossible. What was his playing weight last year? I'm nearly the same height and build as Claiborne, and if i dropped to 165, I'd literally be skin and bones. I can't even imagine dropping down to 150. Sounds like he stopped eating altogether.....well, at least he's up to 170 now. that's still very light.

That is really odd. He was 188 when drafted.

I'm the same height as him and my weight is normally around 185. I don't see any chance of getting down to 150 under any normal circumstances.

Maybe he has an overactive thyroid.

It's also possible Mr. 6 on the wonderlic was just confused by the 3 digit numbers.

Other than that, he's a hell of a corner

I had the same injury and I'm normally weigh 170-175lbs. When I stepped on the scale at one point, I believe I was in the high 150's and I was so sick to my stomach with what I saw. There wasn't much I could do about it. Almost two years post op, my right quad is a lot smaller than my left quad. You loose so much muscle because you can't do anything for the first 2 months.

He should've been picked at number 188

I went from 180-155 when i had a SLAP tear. Hated that.

35-40 pounds is a lot though, i have a fast metabolism but Mo's is probably pretty crazy.

This pick was cursed from the start. Lesson in moving up.

150? Yikes. He needs to get closer to 200 or strength will probably be an issue.

He has ball skills. He looked under repped/awkward in making his pick against Brees last year but he high pointing the ball at the right place at the right time. Brees tried to pick on him and failed.

I also disagree with the characterization of slow. I can accept not fast but his catchup speed is not a problem. His short area quickness was very good. I have no idea what his knee will allow him now.

Weak and small I can go with absolutely. Injuries to smaller players is a trend. He does have some swagger though. It was him throwing at that Raider last year that started the brawl. The problem was that he got a stinger doing it.

If he plays it will be as the nickel corner I think. He can contribute there if he doesn't break. I'm not holding my breath but if he does stay healthy, I wouldn't be surprised if he plays well.

Moved up to get Dez, Lawrence, Spencer, and Emmitt off the top of my head, but yeah we gave up too much to get MO.

Did they really move up for Spencer? Ouch. Just Dez and Smith worth it so far. Jury still out on Lawrence.

Yeah that is a ton of weight to lose. You just hate to see yourself wither away. Within a week, the quad muscle starts to atrophy and look like you have jello for a muscle. It is awful.

.

That's what I'm saying. If I'm walking around in shape comfortably around 190 lbs, I can't fathom dropping down to 150 especially for someone with already a slim build. I've been laid up before and lost muscle mass in a matter of a blink but I dropped maybe 15-20 lbs from 190. To drop an additional 20 would require a drastic and probably unhealthy change in diet. Mo's case seems extreme.
