I think we are going to have a heck if a time stopping the run. I'm less concerned about DE than DT. I was hoping we'd take a look at Marvin Austin.

I'm not overly worried about the defense, but if I am, it's about our ability to stop the run, too.

I'm with you, but DT Nick Hayden has been a pretty good run stopper through camp and the preseason. I'm more worried about what happens if Kyle Wilber ever has to receive extensive playing time at end. Looked like he was on roller skates against Houston.

I was hoping we would as well (in reference to Marvin Austin). He's a kid out of DC so I saw some of him in HS and since I live in ACC Country caught him at UNC as well......I always thought he had the quick twitch ability to play a 3 technique. His decision making off field, motor and injuries are the knocks on him. I think the combo of Kiffin and Marinelli would do wonders for his career. Not to mention learning from Rat, Leon Lett and Ware about hand placement etc.

Oh well.....guess the coaches, scouts and Jerry don't like the fit.

I'm concerned about how this defense will look in the second half of the year.

Ware and Spencer are undersized for their roles, and will be taking on more blockers on a down by down basis. By the second half of the year, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see both of them performing at significantly less than 100% effectiveness. While Hatcher doesn't have the size deficiency, he will be playing more snaps this year than he has played in his career. As the depth across the line is not good, I think these guys will be playing way to many snaps, and will be worn down if not injured by the end of the season.

As long as either Hayden/Hatcher can tie up two blockers, they will be able to hold their own against the run. With Lee and Carter playing in space, they will clean up against the run.

As for Bosworth, this is a solid pickup. He'll be good on ST, and would have the ability to contribute as a reserve LB.

Thanks for putting that thought in my head.

It's a nice addition. ...and McGee made the PS rite?

I read he's going to Cleveland. I wouldn't have mind him staying, but I like the prospects of starting Lee, Carter, and Holloman (next year). I'd argue we'd have the best LB corps in the league.

So for me, Holloman > McGee, but I would have liked to have kept him. He was balling in college. It may take him a minute to realize his potential in the pros. I wish it was with us, but oh well.

Betting Holloman moves to MLB.

I have no idea what the player can do but he has made some plays. I'm hoping he doesn't get a ton of snaps because I'd like Lee, Durant/Sims, and Carter to stay on the field.

The cardinals, chiefs and jags all claimed like 7 guys a piece.

Arizona claimed ta'muu and kc claimed Howard.

There are a lot of veteran defensive tackles hanging around and as dc noted on twitter art briles is a guy this team talks to a lot so maybe they have a connection to Watkins.

With the recent history of failed Baylor OL prospects (Jason Smith, Danny Watkins, Philip Blake), I pass on Watkins.

#NYG have indeed cut Kyle Bosworth ... and I'm shocked.

Seems like he was a special teams players

At a quick glance I thought that said Al Sharpton lol

I don't remember what Dallas thought of Watkins. Is he a guy that could fit a zone scheme?
have to wonder why Reid wouldn't be interested in him, unless this was one of the picks that led to that rift in the eagles front office.
