Clarence Hill: Cowboys have offered Micah a record deal with his agent not involved

The agents work for the players.

Not the other way around. I wish more teams in football (soccer) did this. Agents have actually ruined the sport due to their commissions.
Was it Randy White, that wanted a nice trailer for his truck, as a signing bonus? Maybe it was a boat trailer, can't remember.
Maybe Jerry should build Micah a broadcast booth for his podcast in his garage and his signing bonus.

It will be like the movie Failure to launch. That kind of awkward situation lol...which kinda has a double meaning when you see Jerry's managerial skills and Micahs playoff prowess....

Micahs agent nor Micah is entitled to anything. It's simply a matter of accepting the deal or getting the agent involved, which will likely get messy. I can't complain about the Joneses tactics on this one.
I can & will.

99.9% of players are not going to sign without an agent. So what they are doing is havening talks with a player that will be totally immaterial once the agent inevitable becomes involved. Then you get to do it all over again. It wastes time and it wastes money while other deals are getting done in the meantime.

It's not how I would do my own business personally. But looking at it from the Joneses perspective, I can see why they are trying it.

The standard is 3% for player agents. The NFLPA certifies agents and strongly recommends members use them and not negotiate contracts themselves or use an agent not certified by the union.

Owners would love to be able to negotiate directly with players and for there to be no such thing as player agents.

Why do these Joneses always try to do this stuff? These shenanigans is why they always get taxed by agents.
it’s stupid. what’s the point of doing this? Agent is never gonna accept whatever deal they throw under the table at parsons. Agent is thinking of all his clients no way in hell Jerry i’m accepting that crap. PAY UP!
