Who doesn't wear a bulletproof vest on the mean streets of Columbus?

Um...isn't there a new cactus wearing a star?
Get with the program Moss, it's ok to be hypocritical about a player, just don't be wrong about a player.

I will admit that I was convinced that Cade McNown would be a great QB in the NFL. It's the UCLA homer in me I guess.

I was in that camp, too. I was convinced that McNown would be good. He had that ... that .. that "moxie." :)

I read a NY Times article about Clarett a couple of years ago and after that, I was convinced he wasn't worth the risk. It was a long piece and the writer did a great job. He interviewed all the people who knew Clarett best and one of Clarett's closest friends admitted he was "high maintenance." Nobody had his back.

The only people who are surprised by this are the ones who either had their heads buried in the sand, or are totally blind (oh, and Mike Shanahan).

I say sign him... now... for the league minimum...

Minus his legal fees of course...

:laugh2:

He showed a lot of physical talent in that scuffle with the police. Quickness, strength, determination ... it's there ... you just have to channel it for good.

What's it going to be then, eh?

I read elsewhere that not only did he have on a bulletproof vest and had several loaded pistols, but police also found a hatchet, not to mention an open bottle of alcohol in the vehicle.

It is quite disturbing to think about what he was going to do.

Hmmmm, I guess he does fit the Bengals 'high character' concept.

I can fix stupid. I will need the following items:

A car battery
A pair of jumper cables
A strobe light
A bonobo monkey
A wolverine
Brown gravy

With these things I can fix stupid. OK I may not fix stupid but he will not give the cops anymore trouble.

I shouldn't laugh, but I can't really help it.

Uh, a cactus is a plant that grows in the desert southwest. It has a lot of thorns. Thorns are painful when they stick in you.

Rack pointed out that there was a poster here, remains nameless, who wanted to Draft Clarett in the 2nd round. He then used the analogy of slapping someone in the mouth with a cactus and they would still be unaware.

He made no analogies to a person or player. If you want to take cheap shots at a Cowboys player at least don't be stupid about it. That reply was so lame it really warrants a bullet to put it out of its misery.

Or you could look at the analogy this way:

A cactus = a problem player

No matter how many times that (player screws up)/(cactus pricks someone), some GMs/people still don't see that the player/cactus is (detrimental to a team)/(harmful to touch).

Stop being so righteous, I was making a relevant joke to TO.

I wish someone would have the guts to criticize Shanahan for drafting this loser. I can't stand that overrated POS. He gets a free pass for every dumb move he ever makes.
As Cowboys fans we should NOT be criticizing Shanahan...we should be sending him letters of gratitude. I am convinced that had Shanahan not taken Clarrett in the 3rd round that we would have taken him in the 4th. Jerry so loves controversial figures and I think he had his mind set on taking Clarrett in that draft had he fallen far enough.

So just let me say...THANK YOU MIKE SHANAHAN!!!

Of course, the analogy should have been directed at a player similar to Clarett. Someone who wasn't able to make an NFL roster--who is now out of work wearing bulletproof vests and carrying firearms.

Since it's alright to apply this analogy to anyone, I'll associate it with someone who likes guns...

A cactus = problem player

thus

Sean Taylor = problem player

:)

He, Rae Carruth, Sean Taylor, and OJ were going to go for a ride in Ray Lewis's limo...

A "relevant joke to TO?"

Forgetting for one minute where you are, and who is on your team that is a better analogy for this "joke", let's focus on the word "joke." "Jokes" are supposed to be funny.

Sorry to spoil your day like that, but it had to be done so that you didn't quit your day job and try to make it as a stand up.

Oh and I was right not righteous, but I appreciate the praise.
