Gotta disagree.

This guy sucks, IMO.

I mean, he lost a foot race to white Kicker.
granted it was Lord Beuhler... but still.

I think D. Smith has no potential.

Yeah, he's a classic tweener. Too small for safety and too slow for corner. He's not very tall either. The only reason they'd bring him back is if they think he could bulk up in an NFL program.

He is a classic Jerry pick, hopefully Campo can work his magic!

Yeah, Jerry does it all on his own without any input from scouts and coaches.

I cant understand why he'd do that.

What magic?:muttley: :giants:

I know.

And I don't get the love for Smith, either. He's sub-par in every category I can think of. It took a few days for the Browns to see that.

Chief I was talking about Campo ability to turn chicken feathers into chicken salad, but I agree on Smith, I am not seeing what alot of other people see. I think Campo weakest link on staff and a Jerry lap dog.

Man--that's so much worse than losing a foot race to a black kicker....

(The comment doesn't bother me--it's the double standard that would flag this as offensive if some African-American stereotype were being used.)

Does the scouting department evaluate failed draft choices?

No, like many of the Jerry apologists on this board, they act as if they never happened.

Flame on....

I'm with you Chief. Smith is too small for safety and too slow for corner. He was always taking the wrong angles in coverage and being dragged when making tackles. I did not see the touted ball awareness either. Smith's best chance is in a Tampa 2 defense, but he'll have to improve his tackling.

And keep Campo out of the draft room, the man is terrible at personnel evaluation. TERRIBLE.

Hopefully we cut Holley and bring Smith back to the practice squad. I still would like to see his progress throughout the year and into next season.

Id add him to the PS and lose Holley, or Crosslin.

Hes 23, so I dont know if hes going to get too much bigger or faster, but he was a good prospect for many reasons. Itd be smart to keep him around to develop.

What are the odds wed ever have a Jesse Holley rue thread? We can probably even bring Holley back to TC next year anyway

Lose Holley. Crosslin has a chance to earn a starting job next season if he plays his cards right. I don't think Deon Anderson is that much better, but it's hard to notice the play of the FB in today's NFL.

And yes, you lose Holley because you can surely bring him back to camp next year. He's not going anywhere.

PFW said Smith's best chance was as a Press corner.

Wow. That sucks for him. I don't think Smith can turn and run w/NFL receivers. I mean, there was a reason why he was moved to safety, he is just not fast enough to play corner, especially man 2 man.

Wasn't Campo on the staff when we drafted Jenkins/Scandrick??

Ciskowski's scouts had ranked Scandrick as a first day pick. And Jenkins was universally acknowledged as a first rounder, many even thought top 3 corner.

Smith was pumped up by Campo, who bragged that he stood on the table for Jerry to take him. Both Smith and Mickens come from Campo's old stomping grounds, Connecticut.

Campo sucks.

I know I am a homer, but I still can't believe we took DeAngelo over Macho Harris. Who just happens to be the starting FS for the Eagles.

Campo sucks.

Smith and Mickens went to Cincinnati. Smith is from Columbus, Ohio and Mickens is also from Ohio.

No clue what you're talking about with their relation to CT unless they're just grouped by association of the Big East with UConn, which is a ridiculous reach.
