Cleveland looking for TE

Those wishing for Jerry to trade a TE will be the same ones complaining when we draft a replacement next spring.

Witten intentionally overset to the inside. I see that concept in this blocking scheme often where blockers have a primary responsibility and a secondardy responsibility. His primay was "don't get beat inside" and his secondary was "do what you can once the defender jumps back outside".

Witten stepped inside because he thought the defender would read his movement and go inside with him which he didn't. He actually read Doug Free's movement and tried to get outside. Witten should've ear holed him.

The run was going towards the outside and Witten actually wanted his defender to try and shoot inside and he would've just used his momentum to keep shoving him inside.

The defender didn't bite though. Escobars defender did.

what I see is a weak I repeat WEAK block by a TE that could have sealed the edge and we could of had whatever lineman is running outside lead blocking instead Escobar does nothing but basically run a route during a run play

why not just give them the great escobar you know the TE we spent a premium second round pick on(sp?) we sure are using him to the fullest. smh.

Would you trade Escobar for their second round pick right now? I am pretty sure I would.

Agreed but he did that to try and bait the defender inside and it actually worked.

Wittens man is the guy that ate up the play.

Is any backup Tight End in the NFL worth a second round pick? You can get Escobars production just about anywhere in the draft.

I do not understand this. If we traded Escobar for a 2nd, we would likely end up using that pick to draft his replacement. What would the point of that be?

You may be right but I kinda doubt this.

Jerry sounded like he was against drafting Escobar and he had to be convinced to draft him by the coaches.

After drafting Fasano and Bennett and see'ing how they have gone on to have nice NFL careers as non backups I think Jerry knows now that it's not the quality of the TE but it's actually how they are used.

Dallas hit on both of those 2nd round TE's and they are playing for someone else.

Why would you assume that we would be using the second round pick on a tight end? I know we drafted Fasano, Marty B. and Escobar with second round picks, but Hanna has developed quite a bit since we made the Escobar pick and we have greater team needs than tight end. I know it is likely that we would draft a tight end, but there is no need to use the second rounder on a tight end unless he is dominant ..... and by dominant I mean better than Fasano, Marty B and Esocobar. Let's also not forget we acquired Witten for a 3rd.

If we make a trade with Cleveland, you know what's coming back in return.

I'll give them Witten and a 2nd for JFF

Trying to get picks, not give them away lol. In all likelihood we will pick in the top 5-10, a good QB will be there. We've got way to many holes to make that trade.

I read that with the injury to Cameron, Cleveland is shopping for a TE. Maybe they would be interested in Hanna? We could use a DE or LB.

Trade Escobar for Josh Gordon. Sign Colt Layerla off Packers PS.

I just don't understand why a backup, blocking TE is worth a second. And Escobar isn't even known as a blocker! Hey, let's draft this great receiver really high in the draft and then put him in a role where his primary skill will be drastically underused and his major weakness will become his main task!

We picked up Dan Campbell in FA to serve the same purpose. And that was great, while it lasted.

Either throw to the guy or just abandon the 2 TE bullcrap.

Yeah but JF is worth a 2nd rounder, plus how much longer do you think Witten is going to play? Trading his cap could help us a bit. Plus we do not know if we will pick in the 5-10. We have 15 more games left. JFF needs a little seasoning that's it. This off season should have been a wake up call for him. But hey it's all talk I'm not th GM I just play fantasy gm
