This is obviously a grossly general, from-the-couch, psychoanalsyis thought, but I sometimes wonder if Garrett is just too analytic for his own good. You can almost envision him standing on the standline trying to calculate the percentages, weighing the pros and cons. Meanwhile, 15 seconds tick off before he finally reaches his conclusion.
While it's become cliche to say, I agree that so much of in-game decision making involves having the right feel -- be it for the game, for the play, for the opponent, or for the situation. You can't base it all on percentages. Sometimes you just have to trust your gut. Garrett strikes me as someone who isn't much of a fan of the latter.
