it was...interesting yet still good. i'd give it a 8/10. The first person filming style was fitting, it def blew the blair witch project out of the water.

alot of loose ends though

9/10

Overall the movie was pretty dang good. I got alittle green at times due to the camera shaking, but most the time it wasn't too bad.

From right after the party where you hear it for the first time, the movie is INTENSE!!

I'm not going to spoil anything for anyone, but I'd recommend going to watch it.

Sorry, didn't see it was already posted :)

I personally don't enjoy first person films. It looks cheap as if the film is shot with a handheld camera and the shaking of the camera can get irritating. I don't find that exciting but instead really annoying as it's difficult to tell what's going on. This is why I thought the Blair Witch project was really irritating. There is a difference between voyeuristic films like Psycho that incorporate some first person views versus films that try to put you in the person's shoes the entire time with the camera views constantly changing and being shaky. But then again, that's why the Bourne Ultimatum and Bourne Supremacy were really popular and I didn't like those films that much either.

Well trust me, this doesn't look too cheap. I know the budget wasn't too much more than 35 mil., but for what they had, they used the most out of it. Manhattan looks like it should, if it had some big creature wrecking ------.

I am back from watching Cloverfield. It is a very intense and different kinda movie. It's also a different kind a Monster Movie in that end of day maybe the Monster(s) won. The video camera stuff truly makes you feel like you are there.

Ending sets up all sorts of sequel storylines. I recommend it. It was sold out here tonight.

Just got back a couple hours ago... packed theatre, I think the sold out crowd was actually more enjoyable than the movie IMO.

The audience was pretty into it and gave a little extra to the susprense but overall I was pretty disappointed.

Just seen it and finally a movie that actually lived up to the hype.

I loved it.

Unfortunately, my suspicions were confirmed. This is a terrible movie! It was exactly as I feared. The entire movie is essentially shot from one person's hand held camera. It's exactly like the Blair Witch project but it has a monster and better special effects. Yeah, just call it the "Blair Monster Project'. I know the camera work caused many people to leave the film early. And it was gettig annoying how the camera wouldn't tilt up. I was nauseous from the shaky camera which is probably why it was so short, to save people like me from hurling on the dude sitting in front of me. There is no explanation as to where the monster comes from. Just take the previews and extend it another 80 minutes and that's Cloverfield. In fact, the monster is barely in the film and essentially makes a cameo.

If you remember the previews, you are thinking "Wow, that looks cool and I can't wait to see what it is that is attacking the people and where it comes from and why it's attacking" NOPE....none of those questions are really answered. What you see in the previews pretty much encompasses the entire film. You just see people running from the monster and trying to survive. That is supposedly the entertaining part of this film.

Again, it all comes down to whether you like first person type of movies. If you liked the Blair Witch project and cheap hand held camera views, you wil love this film. You are either going to love it or hate it.

Did you have any reaction to the Star Trek teaser?

Sometimes its refereshing when a movie doesn't give you all the answers. It's truly a movie shot from the perspective of a bunch of friends stuck in Manhatten during a catastrophic attack.

The teaser was sort of represented as the start of the movie till you saw the Enterprise. It was BIG

I enjoyed the movie, not because of the action, but because of the internal storyline between the guy and the girl and the interlacing of the two periods - the attack and the Day at Coney Beach.

Cloverfield grossed $18M last night, #1 at the box office. Projected to gross $52M for the weekend.

Not shabby for a movie made on a $25M Budget. Me see's Cloverfield 2 kicking into motion fast. I knew that when the second the movie ended......
