For all you Garret haters, please go root for a team that has the IDEAL COACHING STAFF you desire. I for one don't want nothin to do with fellow fans who misguidedly blame the coaches for losses that really fall on the shoulders of piss poor QB's and an idiotic Front office that refused to sign a proven Backup QB the past 2 years...

I invite you to go root for another team. You see, we have a tradition here of proven super bowl caliber head coaches like Tom Landry and Jimmy Johnson. When Red Ginger is cast aside and becomes a QA coach for the Lions, please feel free to follow him there.

Coach Clapper is killing me. When you are coming off four losses in a row and possibly facing five...

YOU DON'T PLAY CONSERVATIVE.

You play to win the freaking game not wuss out and try to play not to lose.

or if you do you end up losing by 28 and same people would be saying why not play conservative and give the team a chance.

we played a close game. came down to one or two plays...I rather have a chance, than be blown out so I can say we went for it.

Marvin Lewis constantly makes the playoffs in a small market and currently has his team undefeated. Garrett is nowhere near Lewis.

Garrett feels no pressure to change.

He thinks what we do is fine and the players just need to play better.

I personally wanted us to go for it on 4-1 when we were down 3-0.

You are supposed to take the points but we were on a 4 game bender. Now 5.

Although he received good protection, boy did Cassel look shell shocked that last 1 minute drive. Just staring down the plays.

I know their secondary is something but wow!

I don't even think he thinks that. I think he is trying everything and nothing is working because the entire passing offense is ineffective without Romo and he knows it.

Does his clapping actually hurt the team?? NO, it is just really, REALLY, REALLY annoying but his inability to ever adjust and ultra conservative play are a huge problem. Romo has covered all of Garretts warts which are on full display now!!!!

It is annoying but when he displays no emotion then that affects the team, too, according to many.

He's playing conservatively to try to stay in games and hopefully catch some breaks to win. You see what happens when they turn the QB loose.

They could have won games since Romo went down. A little better QB play and some turnovers would have probably won some.

It's been a crappy year.

All the forces of evil are against us according to many. In reality we suck at QB and our defense isn't creating turnovers which the same defense did last year. Only it wasn't as good.

I think it's fair to start assigning some blame to JG.

0-5 without Romo is outside of the norm of what other teams are able to achieve with backup QBs. That's not to say other team are great without their backup QBs, however, they should be able to squeak or a game here or there.

Exactly.

Here's what will be telling. If either Weeden or Cassel are still here after this season, you know it has to be coaching.

If it's the backup quarterback that's responsible for the losses, and you don't change quarterbacks at the end of the season, then it says something about your ability to identify talent for your squad.

If you retain either quarterback, what you're saying is it's not on them but the team.

Either way, it points back to the coach not being able to properly assess the backup quarterback position or not being able to get your guys ready or develop a game plan to win at least ONE Romo-less game.

Ta dah with a drum roll. But it's not the vertical offense. No offense in the league works with a QB who can't execute it and most are like us....variations of the vertical offense.

Then that's a problem too. If your offense can work only if Romo is running it, that's very shortsighted on the part of an "offensive genius".

Even our short passing game sucks. It's basically just a bunch of dump-offs. This has always been Garrett's MO. When we had Romo at his prime, the offense was vertical and if guys weren't open, Barber would come out on a delay for a dump off. We never ran quick passes out the slot or drag routes and crossing routes over the middle.

A credible short passing game would get the ball out of the hands of the QB quickly and rely on rhythm. Our offense doesn't put a QB in the best position to succeed. Tom Brady, despite the cheating nature of the organization, gets the ball at out his hands at a record 2.07 seconds.

You also want to know why he isn't sacked that much? There you have it. Against the Cowboys, after he was sacked 5 times, they simply went hurry-up, no-huddle offense to keep the pressure off. These are adjustments they make during the game in real, time.

It is a good thing in a way that it has been exposed for what it is though. There has been a lot of intellectual arrogance from Garrett over the years and perhaps this prompts a little soul searching on his part.

Posts like this make me laugh.

No one is suggesting that the Cowboys should have morphed in Baylor and thrown the ball 50 times yesterday.

What people are saying when they say Garrett and Linehan are conservative is that in key spots, this coaching staff goes chickenpoop. The prime example is halfway through the 4th quarter, you stop the Seahawks and are nursing a 2 point lead. Seattle knows exactly what you are going to do.......... line up and try to run the ball between our OTs and grind out a first down. So they simply just man up to stop the run. Now, no one is suggesting we should have run a reverse there or a flea flicker. But instead of three straight up the gut runs that result in a quick punt, how about mix a safe pass in there? Try to pick up a first down and grind the clock a little more? Make Seattle think, gee, they might throw the ball here instead of just running it up the gut?

That's what people are saying. I am not sure why some fans keep referencing the Giants game as proof the game plan yesterday was sound. No one is suggesting that you have Cassel whipping the ball all over the field against Seattle. But in key spots, the calls were beyond conservative.

we had total of 97 yards passing that day.... there were drives we threw three straight...and failed.... so what gives you warm and fuzzies that a safe pass would have worked? dez was blanketed by Sherman all day. Williams sucks. Beasley is AWOL and they were doubling up on witten.....
